Petrofac is currently looking to recruit a Senior Engineer Civil – Construction Role to be based in Halfaya, Iraq

Scope Of Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing all site construction activities and supervising field personnel as required to ensure adherence to international standards, agreed budget, schedule and construction sequence.
  • Responsible for supervising and inspecting work of all Construction Contractors in the oilfield
  • Review of Contractor documents/procedures related to Civil Construction
  • Responsible for coordination and development activities for the function, including development and revision of procedures
  • Responsible for managing subcontractor and supervising construction activities. Maintains the highest quality standards while administering good construction safety practices with all on-site activities.
  • Ensures that all company employees and contractors are adhering to the company Health, Safety, and Environmental excellence policy.
  • Promote job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately. Regularly participate in HSE meetings, toolbox talks, and daily jobsite walks.
  • Direct all field personnel including those of construction contractors to achieve completion of the project on schedule, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
  • Ensure competency check of each reporting supervisor and evaluate capability of performing their allotted scope of work.
  • Contribute to construction schedule and 6-weeks look-ahead, understand the project plans and specifications, identify and solve problems, order materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the process.
  • Maintain positive working relationship with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees.
  • Implement standardized construction work processes, procedures, manuals and systems and create a system of control in each specific area.
  • Ensure that all supervisors understand the construction KPIs and their personal KPIs, and strive to achieve these.
  • Understands the systems turnover plan and sequence and ensures that the work is performed accordingly.
  • Ensures timely inspection/test within their disciplines based on approved ITPs.
  • Ensure installation and test procedure(s) are followed.
  • Coordinate all site inspections with the site subcontractors.and inspect as per Request for inspections
  • Ensures that all inspection reports are accurate and that all attached documents are current status.
  • Review all inspection reports for compliance.
  • Coordinate with the customers QC inspectors for the resolution of site problems.
  • Assist the site subcontractors in the resolution of drawing interpretation.
  • Review work procedures and method statements for compliance with good work practices and the customers contract specializations.
  • The review of inspection test packages during the course of construction activities.
  • Compliance with the site’s health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure installation in compliance with project specifications, drawings and applicable code requirements.
  • Monitor calibration status and condition of Inspection/Test and Measuring instruments.
  • Monitor performance of sub-contractors, ensure personnel are qualified and competent to perform allocated tasks, have valid certification, where required, for the techniques in use.
  • Coordinate with construction supervisors for timely issue of RFIs as work progress.
  • Ensures closure of all RFIs and related inspection/test records (ITRs) immediately after successful completion of each inspections.
  • Monitor completion of system/sub system in his area based on previously forecasted ITRs.
  • Report back to discipline leader, if any refining required in ITR forecast based on actual site condition.
  • Coordinate with Subcontractor to timely closure of NCR, CAR, DSR and Quality Walkthrough findings.
  • Daily progress report to be submitted to his/her line supervisor.
  • Coordinate within the department for updating the QMS documentation.
  • Carry out any other activities as required by the direct supervisor
  • Ensure compliance with Company Code of Conduct, local laws and regulations

Minimum Job Requirement

  • Engineering Degree from an accredited college or university
  • 6-8 years’ Prior experience in construction of Oil and Gas facilities
  • Excellent leadership and communications skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of construction Equipment functions, application, safety features etc., PMC / owner experience is preferred
