The Position

As a Senior Business Process Analyst, you will use your expertise and experience to support the design, implementation and enhancement of current and future business and systems processes to support our dynamic International Programs Department. This role will involve engaging with critical stakeholders, and assessing, detailing, and maintaining both new and existing business and system requirements and related documentation. You will be responsible for identifying and overseeing workflow process improvements and demonstrating leadership in implementing changes. You will also be responsible for participating in operating plan development to identify trends, issues, and risks. You will apply analytical knowledge and business experience to identify and document business requirements, workflows, and system functional requirements, carry out tests and develop training plans in collaboration with and for the benefit of key stakeholders.

What success looks like?

  • Lead business process review and detailed mapping analysis of business and systems processes including the evaluation of current data sources and systems related tasks with key stakeholders within Plan Canada and other Plan offices to capture current process flows and identify any potential gaps, procedural bottlenecks or opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct design sessions, both individually and in partnership with technical business analysts within Information Systems and Technology, to better understand user needs, identify gaps and recommend solutions that meet the desired future state for systems processes within the department.
  • Review organization protocols/guidelines/policies and ensure business processes are aligned or propose changes to achieve alignment.
  • Identify inefficiencies and areas of improvements within existing data sources, processes, and reports.
  • Develop communications, training and refresher sessions for new and existing business processes.
  • Develop comprehensive user guidance documentation for each system and share with wider program team.
  • Act as a liaison between business users and in-house Information Systems and Technology team members.
  • Supervising a team member who supports with systems, applications and data.

As Our Ideal Candidate You Will Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, Social Sciences, Data/Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, an engineering discipline, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst is required.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and consensus building skills.
  • Considerable experience conducting business process reviews including a demonstrated ability to design and lead collaborative approaches with cross-functional teams to identify, design and test solutions to shared problems.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting data analyses, synthesizing information from multiple sources, and making evidence-based recommendations.
  • Highly developed presentation, communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects, processes and work teams.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products to create reports, spreadsheets, presentations, and training plans (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as other relevant application products.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to collect business requirements and to convey information concerning technical solutions to both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Business Intelligence analytical tools including (query development, analysis and report delivery systems).
  • Previous experience with Great Plains, Clarizen, and/or Salesforce would be a strong asset.
  • Previous experience with non-profit financial reporting would be a strong asset.
  • Previous experience as a supervisor.
  • Personal values consistent with those of Plan International’s organizational values.
  • Experience in the International development sector with intercultural skills would be a strong asset.
