Amazon is currently seeking a senior leader to spearhead our Business Development Efforts in India & help us grow our mobile business through the creation and management of strategic partnerships in India.

In particular, this role will focus on building, expanding and creating partnerships with mobile network operators and handset manufacturers for distribution and engagement with Amazon mobile offerings (Shopping, Video, Music, Audible and Kindle applications) as well as other Amazon subscription services available

Managing this exciting and fast growing portion of the Amazon business will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to fulfill the Amazon motto to “Work Hard, have Fun, and make History.”

As a Senior Leader of Business Development, India your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Strategy and Execution for Amazon’s mobile operator relationships across the key carriers and OEMs in the region.
  • Identifying priority strategic partners, negotiating and closing distribution deals, implementing the agreements, managing the partnerships and supporting the roll out of GTM/marketing activities to drive usage of distributed mobile applications and services in this channel.
  • Successfully source and negotiate complex partnership agreements, from first contact through to signed contracts.
  • Move seamlessly and frequently between high-level negotiations with tier 1 mobile Operators and/or OEMs, including the management of operational details and creative promotions to increase mobile customer acquisition.
  • Develop and manage C-suite relationships in the partner organisation, including the delivery of Quarterly Business Reviews and executive briefings.
  • Manage account, marketing and technical operations team to support our growth strategies
  • Oversee successful implementation and optimization of all agreements.
  • Drive other strategic Amazon service integrations with mobile network operator partners.
  • Develop a go-to-market plan for addressing mobile distribution, customer lifecycle management and engagement opportunities, and prioritize mobile network and handset manufacturer prospects appropriately.
  • Serve as primary point of contact and account management within the Mobile Business Development team for mobile operators and strategic mobile partners
  • Coordinate closely with local retail country management and with worldwide mobile, services and leadership product teams.
  • Coordinate with other Amazon business development teams to leverage established relationships and present a unified vision to our partners in the mobile arena.
  • Report on plans and results to senior management, and coordinate closely with various internal stakeholders.
  • Develop strong cross functional relationships regionally and globally

Basic Qualifications

Successful candidates will have experience working with external partners and demonstrate excellent relationship management and have a strong will to deliver results. Key attributes to success also include:

  • Strategic agility, strong communication, persuasion and advocacy skills.
  • Adept at a wide variety of skills including; time-sensitive legal discussions of commercial terms, device roadmap reviews, promotional campaign approvals or deal model exercises with finance.
  • Ability to think, analyze and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
  • Proven negotiating skills, business judgement and influencing abilities
  • Superior communication skills, high attention to detail, flexibility and willingness to be resourceful in getting things done
  • Good organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines
  • Deep Mobile and/or digital Entertainment industry experience
  • Deep knowledge of the telco and OEM domain and proven track record of delivering results through partnerships
  • High English language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking, and listening)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience in partnership development / business development.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the IN mobile space & wider trends of the digital media streaming services domain
  • Strong existing network of contacts among mobile networks, application developers and handset manufacturers
  • Experience on both carrier and mobile client side of industry preferred.
  • Experience in mobile eCommerce and/or mobile digital media applications strongly preferred
  • Strong bias for action, and ability to work independently toward stated goals with minimal oversight.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior management both internally and externally.
  • Proven ability to create and execute complex, multi-partner deals in the mobile space.
