General Summary

The Senior Business Applications Analyst will provide systems administration, configuration, deployment and support for business information systems. Performs as leader for projects of varying sizes and complexity as they relate to the business information systems. Works with business support areas in order to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for the business applications. Facilitates workflow analysis and software design solutions to enable the business support areas to achieve their goals. Serves as coach/mentor for Business Applications Analyst team members.

Principal Responsibilities

The Senior Business Applications Analyst will:

  • Support Workday implementation through design, build, test, and deploy phases of ERP/HRMS project.
  • Maintain business applications including installing upgrades, providing enhancements, and problem management.
  • Provide consultation on process analysis and design, recommending alternative solutions, both automated and manual, to meet those needs.
  • Act as liaison between Information Technology vendors and internal departments.
  • Provide after-hours on call service as required.
  • Determine goals and objectives for projects, identifying stakeholders, business requirements, user needs, and potential costs.
  • Translate functional requirements into system design, ensuring systems deliver desired capabilities to meet user needs.
  • Assist with the design and deployment of business applications and foreign system interfaces between third party systems.
  • Develop project plans with timelines, milestones, defined roles and responsibilities, and communication plans.
  • Develop conversion/migration requirements and life cycle plans including designing, configuring, testing, implementing and documenting phases.
  • Develop and document integration test and user acceptance test plans based on functional specifications.
  • Develop documentation for training, maintenance and support.
  • Develop end-user training materials for applications software as needed.
  • Assist with providing user training, conducting training sessions as necessary.
  • Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports directly to the Director, IT and Clinical Applications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Bachelor degree in information systems or business. Work experiences can replace traditional educational requirements.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an Information Systems Applications Analyst role.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with installation, support, maintenance of ERP/HRMS applications.
  • Knowledge of healthcare business support processes in one or more area (e.g., Finance, Payroll and HR, Procurement & Central Supply, Revenue Cycle, etc.).
  • Proven ability to manage software initiatives of varying sizes and complexity.
  • Experience working within Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Personal computer skills necessary to prepare project plans, presentations, flow charts, test plans, etc.
  • Firm knowledge of workflow in one or more area and ability to work independently with users to define how technology can drive business processes.
  • Analytical skills necessary to resolve issues and/or increase operational efficiency of business support processes.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to actively listen and communicate effectively with IS peers and user community to deliver and support systems based on user needs.
  • Strong team-building skills to promote cooperation, collaboration and partnership both inside and outside the organization.
  • Critical thinking and reasoning skills to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternate solutions, conclusions and approaches to problems.
  • Organizational skills necessary to coordinate the completion of tasks independently as well as with others to meet established deadlines.
  • Work well under pressure.

Working Conditions

  • Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.
