Estimated Salary Range: $90,000.00 – $108,000.00

The Job

World Vision is looking for a Sr. Business Analyst to support multiple business/system functions. S/he will support one or more highly complex business solutions, requiring design or integration of technical solutions that may cross multiple functions of the business. The Sr. Business Analyst will serve as a project team member and conduct data gathering and analysis to understand business strategy and direction or to determine the strategy required to support project testing. S/he will participate in special projects where technical and/or domain expertise is needed such as RFPS and help carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies. The incumbent will personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

Planning: Participate in short, mid-range, and long-term planning sessions with a client to implement business solutions within one or more assigned client areas. You will develop business cases.

Liaison: Serve as the link between the business, third-party vendors and the IT technical team.

Business/Testing Requirements:

  • Assess client needs using a structured requirements process (gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing changes) to prioritize immediate business/testing needs and recommend options, risks and cost vs. benefits.
  • Develop, write, and communicate business and functional requirements for the implementation of business solutions.
  • Analyze customer’s operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities for improvements.
  • Develop, write, and communicate Test Plan requirements and testing approach for the verification of business solutions.
  • Analyze existing test documentation for the system under test to understand the strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities for improvements in the Software Lifecyle or Implementation processes.
  • Configure solution to meet requirements and oversee the work of junior staff, as needed.

Testing Process: Plan and document testing approach, addressing technical and business priorities and fit with other plans (eg: integration testing and/or relation to other solutions). You will also document current business/testing processes and models.

Problem Solving:

  • Identify and resolve issues, escalate as needed.
  • Use new and creative analytical techniques.
  • Assist and mentor members of the team in the identification and resolution of complex issues.
  • Manage the defect/issues list for large projects, including routing issues for re-test.

Customer Satisfaction: Monitor and analyze metrics to ensure customer satisfaction.

Communication/Consulting:

  • Promote an understanding of IT roles, processes and activities to the business units.
  • Present information to senior management.
  • Negotiate agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and IT from the initial requirements phase to final implementation phase of projects.
  • Help to lead in the creation, review and analysis of user stories/epics in projects utilizing the prescribed development methodology.
  • Provide results analysis of testing efforts, including resolution of open issues or defects and comments on risks that have been mitigated or dismissed through testing.
  • Help inform requirements for and serve as Subject Matter Expert and/or Technical Resource on Request for Proposals or similar work efforts.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert and/or Technical Resource for special business projects where IT domain expertise is needed.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or other related field, or equivalent (eight years) work experience.
  • In addition to education or education equivalent, requires 5 years of relevant technical and business work experience.
  • Requires leadership skills, experience/in-depth knowledge of business operations and systems requirements/testing processes.

Additional Skills We Are Interested In:

  • Experience with Salesforce platform and/or other low-code systems is a plus and preferred, but not required.
  • CBAP, PMP, or other certifications are a plus.

Salary Range & Benefits:

  • WVUS Pay Grade Level: 226
  • The full range for this position is $82,632.63 – $131,997.59
  • The estimated hiring range is $90,000.00 – $108,000.00
  • This range applies to locations with a market similar to our Washington D.C. office. A different range may apply based on your work location.
