Senior Business Analyst

Asda is separating from Walmart and this means we are going through one of the biggest retail transformation programmes that the world has ever seen! ‘Future’ is the name for the programme that will see Asda create their new operating model, independent from Walmart. Technology will undoubtedly be one of the most ambitious parts of this work.

Asda Technology are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst with a solid background in Ecommerce, working on large complex transformation retail projects. This is truly a ‘once in a career’ opportunity so if you like to be kept busy then you’ll enjoy this role!

You’ll report into a Technology Delivery Manager and will support across a variety of product workstreams within Ecommerce. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their true requirements and you will therefore require excellent communication a and stakeholder management skills. You won’t need to be overly technical, but a good understanding of current technology will be required with the ability to work closely with a wide range of roles, including Project and Delivery Managers, Enterprise and Solutions Architects, and different Technology Vendors and partners.

Your Role

You’ll work with the a range of stakeholders to elicit, analyse, prioritise and document, scope & requirements; achieving full sign off from business customers and senior Asda Technology stakeholders

There will be a lot of variation in this role as you may be required to undertake analysis related to future opportunities, in support of achieving agreed delivery outcomes, and ultimately, to ensure that services are designed to enable the safe transition into live operation.

You will work with Enterprise and Solution Architects to ensure that the agreed requirements are reflected in the technical design. You’ll have a lot of interaction with both internal product and technical teams & external vendors to ensure that the solution adequately meets the requirements. Building and maintaining strong working relationships with business stakeholders, Project Managers, Solution Architects, Infrastructure, Service transition teams, and the QA testing team.

About You

• Strong Senior Business Analyst with a passion for analysis and for providing first class service to your customers.
• Expertise in a variety of modelling & analysis tools, methods and standards, e.g. Use cases, User stories, Business Process Modelling.
• Ideally, you’ll also have previous experience of the full project lifecycle in Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• You will have great communication skills, be able to build rapport quickly with diverse stakeholder groups, and be at home leading workshops and challenging requirements
• You will have previous eCommerce or transformation experience
