Summary

The Senior Associate, Knowledge Management, Learning, and Communications (KLC) will support Implementer-Led Design, Evidence, Analysis and Learning (IDEAL) and associate awards (AAs) with a wide range of tasks to support external communication and socialization of activities/products, including event management, as well as internal knowledge management and documentation.

What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

Knowledge Management, Learning, and Communications (75%)

  • Support the maintenance of the Food Security & Nutrition (FSN) Network website, regular bi-weekly newsletters, special issue newsletters, and social media, including LinkedIn, Medium, Twitter, and YouTube:

    • Regularly update the website by adding resources, events, pages, announcements, etc.
      – Curate content from across FSN Network members and other key stakeholders
      – Upload videos, create channels, playlists, etc.
  • Assist in the production of

    • multi-media learning and communication products, i.e.: reports, briefs, case studies, blogs, videos, and online learning modules
    • promotional materials that inform key audiences about the activities of IDEAL and AAs.
  • Track metrics and report on the effectiveness of IDEAL’s and AAs’ communications efforts.

  • Aid the development, continuous improvement of, and adherence to uniform standards, formats, and style guidance for publications, materials, and presentations.

  • Ensure all publications, videos and other products follow IDEAL/AA and USAID branding and marking guidelines,

  • Confirm all online materials are accessible for those with disabilities, in compliance with section 508 of the United States’ Rehabilitation Act.

  • Reinforce internal communication and documentation systems using SharePoint and MS Teams.

  • Develop templates, track metrics, and update the contact database and in doing so, improve IDEAL & AA’s knowledge management processes.

Event Management (25%)

  • Support planning and implementation of online meetings/events and in-person events, both in the US and international
    • set up event webpages
    • prepare and disseminate communications to participants
    • registration management
    • provide backend support during the meeting,
    • produce materials
    • perform post-event tasks
    • participate in venue procurement
    • on-site logistics
    • uploading event data into contact database
    • Participate in the analysis of data and information from events (from survey, polls, and discussions) to inform future initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent, plus at least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in writing, copy-editing, and proofreading
  • Demonstrated experience in event planning, design, and implementation – both online and in-person
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of social media channels such as Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate successfully with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining and environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional proficiency in French, Spanish, Arabic or Portuguese
  • Experience applying USAID marking and branding guidance
  • Basic design skills and experience, using Microsoft or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience in website management
  • Experience in publication production, including working with graphic designers and other vendors
  • Experience using online collaboration platforms such as Zoom, MS Teams, and Miro
  • Experience in photography and/or videography

Compensation

Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:

  • Geo 1- NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Up to $65,000/ year

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location.
