Job Overview:

The Finance Manager, FP&A for Global Operations functions will report to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, Global operations. We are looking for a financial professional who has experience in budget development and management and can serve as a strategic finance partner. This role will require strong interpersonal skills and organization, as the team collaborates heavily across finance, HR, IT, public fundraising, strategy and other department teams.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Crafting strategies to optimize assigned department’s budgets and spending
  • Providing financial analysis, reports, and strategic feedback to facilitate high-level decision-making by functional and FP&A management
  • Oversee spending patterns and implementing measures to promote adherence to budgets and ensuring assigned departments are maintaining budget methodologies to ensure good financial standing of organization
  • Coordinate data and understand business requirements to build and maintain templates and models to enable budget and forecast processes
  • Ensure partnership between the FP&A and assigned client group in developing annual budget and forecast process
  • Generate and analyze monthly actuals reports for assigned departments and identify risks and opportunities
  • Identify and implement opportunities to use IRC’s financial data and systems to improve modeling, reporting and analytics capabilities
  • Support the continued development and implementation of software and systems that enable FP&A delivery
  • Train new financial, program and operations management staff on IRC’s budget policies, processes and financial systems
  • Provide ad hoc finance decision support on critical initiatives, including the development of business cases for new projects or funding areas

Job Requirements:

Work Experience:

  • Approximately 3-6 years of working experience in budgeting, finance, data analytics, or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years working as a business partner for an operations function, such as HR, IT, strategy, or other

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel and all MS Office applications
  • Ability to manage large data sets and think strategically to generate and communicate insight from data and analyses
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and diplomatic skills: the ability to collaborate closely with colleagues in a diverse multi-cultural environment and explain sophisticated financial concepts to people without financial background

Preferred experience & skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Data Analytics, or equivalent
  • Ability to apply creative problem-solving
  • Experience with cloud-based planning tools, data visualization tools such as PowerBI and ERP systems is desirable

Working Environment:

  • Standard office working environment
