Make a real difference for those in need as a Senior Accountant on our Finance team. You will support monthly financial operations, audit readiness and core financial reporting requirements. This role reports to the Controller. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and/or review appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and/or review journal entries.
  • Monitor and review financial transactions in the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and analyze components of the monthly financial reporting package.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and controls to be more efficient and effective; support the documentation and implementation of new accounting policies/procedures.
  • Play a key role in the annual audit process.
  • Ensure all accounting tasks are performed correctly, according to GAAP and company policy.
  • Assist with the general accounting functions of the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
  • CPA preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience, public accounting and non-profit a plus.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Process mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to adapt to a continually evolving environment and thrive in a collaborative and deadline-oriented workplace.
  • Detailed oriented, analytical and highly organized.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and multitask.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required. Advanced skill level with Microsoft Excel, including creation and use of complex pivot tables, lookup functions, and other features for formatting, manipulating, and analyzing data. Proven proficiency with account and large data reconciliation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP; experience preparing and analyzing financial statements and reports.
  • Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations related to financial accounting.
  • Experience with accounting and financial platforms (CERES, Concur, Salesforce a plus).
