Job Brief The Global Campus team is seeking a qualified short-term contractor to support its work in the development and management of online courses. The Global Campus advances the part of USIP’s mandate from Congress that focuses on conducting education, training, research, and information services through our online courses. The contractor will support the Global Campus team with updating course content, reviewing and updating course surveys, and assisting in the post-production of live online events.

To be considered for this position, prospective candidates should be familiar with best practices in the areas of education and/or curriculum design, and should also possess superior research, writing, and analytical skills, be highly organized and able to work effectively independently and collaboratively.

Scope of Work Background This position will report to the Global Campus Program Director in Washington, DC.

RESPONSIBILITIES The contractor will be responsible for the following activities: • Reviewing multimedia course content for accuracy and quality • Assisting in the post-production of live streamed, online events to include writing descriptions, tagging, and distribution on streaming services • Reviewing and polishing multimedia transcripts for accuracy • Researching and adding illustrative and relevant photos into lesson pages • Creating downloadable PDFs from web-based course content • Assisting in the updating of course surveys • Performing other relevant tasks as needed.

Work schedule: Minimum: Part-time (20 hours per week) for 6 months

Expected Start Date: ASAP (six month term)

Rate: $22/hour

Office environment: remote position with flexible hours

QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s Degree • One or more years of work experience in education, instructional design, or international relations. • Experience in learning management systems such as Canvas, Blackboard, etc. • Excellent writing and editorial skills. • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Outlook, and Excel is required. Experience using Google products including Drive, Slides, and Sheets. • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines. • Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships and strong interpersonal skills, including cross-cultural communication. • Website editing, management or development experience is highly desirable.
