SAS Coordinator (Social Adjustment Coordinator)

  • Conduct client needs assessments, create client service plans, and document services accordingly
  • Enter client information into the Refugee Data Center and Refugee Management System; log units of services into the Refugee Data Center
  • Close client cases once the service plan is complete
  • Assist team members that may have questions about referrals or intake processes
  • Update the IPS Supervisor on program activities as directed; assist the IPS Supervisor to submit trimester reports by providing pertinent data and information on case management activities
  • Coordinate workshops per the RSS/SAS grant requirements; organize presenters and materials that address the populations learning needs; coordinate with any interns working on workshops
  • Research and broker relationships with new referral resources; provide information to staff on how to utilize new resources
  • Work closely with the RSS Support Specialist to schedule intakes, appointments, and workshops
  • Provide day-to-day supervision over SAS staff schedules
  • Assist the IPS Supervisor with training new staff; provide shadow and observation training opportunities to new case managers
  • Adheres to policies related to boundaries with youth.
  • Attends required abuse risk management training.
  • Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors.
  • Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements.
  • Adheres to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities.
  • Custodian ensures unused rooms and closets remain locked; routinely monitors high-risk locations (locker-rooms and bathrooms), etc.
  • Front desk personnel ensures youth are properly signed in and signed out, ensures only authorized adults are allowed in the facility, etc.

  • Bachelors Degree preferred

  • Ability to speak in another language preferred

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written English, fluency in an additional language a significant plus.

  • Previous experience working as a case manager at a social service agency for at least one year

  • Computer proficient including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

  • Valid Texas drivers license and minimum mandatory Texas automobile insurance coverage; Must have a car for frequent local travel
