Overview: Inovalon is seeking an undergraduate college juniors, seniors and graduate students with a diverse academic background to join our Summer Internship Program this year. As a Sales Strategy Intern, you will support our sales strategy team, with the goal of enhancing your educational experience through practical, on-the-job learning, assignments, and projects. We value collaboration, foster innovation, and value the diverse intellectual capabilities that make up our strong, smart and passionate workforce. The Intern will have exposure to assigned department operations, policies and procedures and will be assisting/providing support to the assigned department thus contributing to the departmental goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the sales strategy team with day-to-day work that covers various activities across the sales department;
  • Develop competitive positioning training materials;
  • Study sales activity;
  • Analyze Sales Rep LinkedIn profiles and usage standards;
  • Mine Salesforce data for improvement ideas;
  • Lead or assist in the completion of projects, artifacts, and/or process improvements, as assigned;
  • Participate in departmental and/or staff meetings;
  • Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures and mission statement;
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position; and
  • Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Employer.

Job Requirements:

  • Passionate for sales and/or sales support;
  • Completion of some business coursework;
  • Ability to work independently and in teams;
  • Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities;
  • Ability to interact in a courteous, helpful, and professional manner;
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced work environment;
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers;
  • Possession of excellent critical thinking and analytical skills;
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality;
  • Strong interpersonal skills including written communication and verbal communication skills;
  • Prior sales experience preferred; and
  • Prior Salesforce or other CRM software usage preferred.

Education:

  • Course work towards Bachelor’s or Master’s degree related to the assigned department.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Sedentary work (i.e. sitting for long periods of time);
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force;
  • Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions;
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions; and
  • Travel for this position will include less than 5% locally, usually for training purposes.
