McCormick & Company, Incorporated is seeking a full-time Sales Intern located at our Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, MD. This is a 10-week internship (June 2023- August 2023) which requires 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Our 10-week Summer Internship Program in Hunt Valley, MD allows college students to get a glimpse into what it’s like to be a part of the McCormick family – rich in flavor, culture, and employee empowerment.

During your time as an Intern you will sharpen your leadership skills, work on real-world challenges, and collaborate with the best leaders in the industry. As part of the Retail Operations team, you’ll help ensure the success of retail execution for the McCormick Consumer Products organization. As a leader across spices, seasonings, condiments and more, we are responsible for driving the execution of strategic initiatives and customer activations in partnership with our sales and broker teams. Through this internship, you’ll get exposure to business-critical projects, data analysis and strategy development, and personal and team leadership opportunities, while working with cross functional team members in sales, marketing, finance, and third-party brokers. A successful candidate will have a natural curiosity, willingness to learn, and the ability to engage and influence a diverse group of colleagues – all to drive positive business results.

Job Description

This Sales Intern will help oversee the retail execution of McCormick programs and assist the Retail Operations Sales Director identify retail gaps and opportunities for improved business results. Candidates should have the desire to learn various skills associated with Sales and be flexible and open to all assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal and external partners to identify opportunities and needs at grocery and mass merchants that would enable step change and growth to accelerate our path to best in class in-store retail execution.
  • Analyze methodologies by which we measure value, and the overall tools and solutions we use to measure, manage and communicate our initiatives; make recommendations for future improvements.
  • Participate in retail store audits, category resets, business reviews and other customer level retail needs.
  • Other projects as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with a target graduation date between December 2023 and May 2024
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a Business, Marketing, Communications, Analytics, or related field
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to filter, prioritize, analyze and validate complex information to develop strategies
  • Ability to work independently, learn new tasks, solve problems, and show strong self-motivation and initiative
  • Must be able to prioritize and balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization and external customers
  • Ability to potentially travel overnight on a few occasions
