Sales Intern
Sales interns at ADM will gain exposure in prospecting of potential accounts, customer/product discovery, quoting and negotiation, market intelligence, product applications, sales and marketing activities, and compiling business case scenarios.
To support learning and development for our interns, ADM has built an exceptional intern program. This eleven-week internship exposes interns to all aspects of ADM’s businesses, provides the opportunity to interact with leadership teams, and establishes a base knowledge of terminology and concepts critical for success in the role. Corporate internships are paid positions that connect with multiple business partners inside the company and across the industry, provide the opportunity to experience new challenges in a dynamic environment, obtain exposure to tools and methods needed to succeed after graduation, and receive periodic evaluations and performance feedback. Lodging is provided for the summer.
We have sales openings in the following locations:
- Decatur, IL
- Alpharetta, GA
Key components of the internship include:
- Prospect and call potential customers
- First point of contact for phone and web inquiries, including basic applications support and referral to appropriate channels.
- Facilitate and manage product samples and technical document requests and capture all pertinent data. Manage process for potential sale.
- Power user of CRM SalesForce.com, daily interaction, logging all pertinent activity and customer notes, manager and updating pipeline.
- Understand the needs and the expectations of the customers. Report or provide relevant solutions if necessary.
- Work closely with cross-functional team to maximize short and long-term profitable growth.
- Channel and log suggestions, inquires and complaints to the appropriate people/systems.
- Market research and investigation to related competitive products and marketing strategies. Develop a clear understanding of how commodity futures markets influence pricing of products.
- Follow determined reporting structures and report compilation.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a four-year degree in Sales, Business, Agriculture-related, or science related field
- Overall GPA of 2.8 or higher
- Outgoing personality with eagerness to assist customers via phone, web, and trade shows.
- Successful candidates will have superior verbal and written communication skills and be self-motivated with the ability to manage time and priorities.
- Open to relocation throughout the U.S.
