Team DXL is a fast growing 3PL company that specializes in moving both domestic and international freight. We are in the hunt to hire a Sales Director to build and lead our sales department. Team DXL is aggressively working plans to grow the company. We need a self-motivated professional with proven managerial experience in logistics or transportation industry and an outstanding track record in sales. In this position, you will be responsible for generating revenue growth and business development meeting our annual sales targets for all regions and accounts. The Sales Director reports to the Director of Operations and the CEO.

Your duties will include building and motivating our sales team, designing strategic sales plans, and assessing costs and competition. In addition to being an excellent communicator, our ideal candidate will also demonstrate exceptional negotiation and leadership skills. We expect to see immediate addition of customers and freight in the process to aggressively grow the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement strategic plans to reach sales targets and grow the company.
  • Develop and manage standard operating procedures for the sales department.
  • Lead and motivate staff to execute the company’s sales plan and tactics
  • Work with customers to better understand their business needs and goals.
  • Cultivate lasting relationships with customers to grow customer loyalty.
  • Develop and promote weekly, monthly, and quarterly prospecting and sales objectives.
  • Make data-based decisions from detailed and accurate sales reports.
  • Create marketing plans and activities to ensure customer awareness.
  • Assess costs, competition, and supply and demand to identify market rates.
  • Estimate sales volume and profit for current services.
  • Recruit, interview, hire and onboard sales team members.
  • Establish a sales training program to train new employees.
  • Meet with Director of Operations to assess company performance.

Requirements:

  • Established book of business and current client relationships.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration or a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a logistics or transportation sales management role.
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing techniques and best practices.
  • Capacity to manage various projects and work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent negotiation and leadership skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • This position requires travel.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, CRM and TMS software.
