**Job Overview/Summary:**The Program Coordinator for Safety and Wellness is responsible for the overall strategy, program design, and service delivery for IRC Turlock’s Health & Wellbeing. The position will coordinate partnerships and implement programs that assist refugee and immigrant communities to access case management, preventative education, and supportive services. Specifically, the position will be responsible for managing the staff, grants, budgets, and direct services falling under the scope of health education, physical health, and wellbeing. The Safety and Wellness Program Coordinator will develop and implement working in the community to establish programs and educational services that support the health and wellbeing of refugee and immigrant communities. The position will also be responsible for strengthening and maintaining partnerships with community Physical health service providers and streamlining the referral process. The Program Coordinator will also develop standards for collecting data and reporting outcomes according to project objectives. This position reports to the Safety and Wellness Manager.

Major Responsibilities:

· In collaboration with the IRC Turlock senior leadership, provide strategy, vision, and thought leadership to IRC Turlock’s Safety and Wellness Department.

· Work with IRC Turlock leadership and IRC Technical Advisors to develop programs and services that serve the health/mental health needs of the local immigrant and refugee community.

· Manage the IRC Turlock’s Health & Wellness and Survivor Services grants; assist with project development, grant writing, program evaluation, reporting, budgeting, and program compliance;

· Manage the quality and timely achievement of core programmatic services.

· Ensure the development of quality, community-based wellness programming using existing networks, resources, and curriculum to connect to traditional healing networks, existing community support systems and other community resources.

· Provide client services when other staff is unavailable.

· Available for client grievances.

· Coordinate and conduct outreach activities to refugee, asylee and immigration populations to promote community health and wellness programming among refugees and other populations in the Central Valley.

· Develop and strengthen partnerships with local mental health, healthcare, social services, domestic violence, and other providers.

· Support staff with referral and care coordination for clients with a high probability of emotional distress including a history of trauma/torture and gender-based violence.

· Ensure client flow between IRC Turlock departments and the health and wellness department programs.

· In collaboration with the Grants Manager, assist in identifying grant opportunities and prepare proposals for funding.

· Compile and deliver program reports to senior program staff, HQ, and donors.

· Responsible for the accurate and timely entry of data into donor and IRC required databases.

· Participate in relevant program meetings, and staff development activities, and fully engages as a member of the team.

· Participate in Turlock Leadership meetings and be an active part of Turlock’s vision

· Collaborate effectively with Site Director on all Health & Wellness initiatives and efforts

· Align with all policies, procedures, and protocols of the agency and the Nor Cal Region and Turlock Office.

· Other related duties as assigned.

Position directly supervises: 3-5 Program staff
Other Internal and/or external contacts:

Internal: Work collaboratively with Turlock’s leadership team, direct service staff, and interns and volunteers

External: Establish and maintain community partnerships

Job Requirements:

  • BA level education with an emphasis in Social Work, Public Health, International Health or an equivalent field of study; MA preferred.
  • 4+ years of related professional experience required, domestic violence and/or health/mental health background preferred; A significant portion of this experience should include responsibilities in public health, social services, and/or humanitarian relief. MSW, MPH, MFT, LCSW preferred;
  • Experience working with refugees, victims of human trafficking, immigrant populations or vulnerable populations required; International and cross-cultural work experience preferred.
  • Experience in program development, grant writing, case management, gender-based projects, health advocacy, community outreach, and partnership development; Teaching/training experience preferred;
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills and strong English writing and communication skills. Bilingual abilities preferred;
  • Highly organized self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills and proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties and manage time effectively;
  • High level of energy, motivation, and commitment to continuously improve service delivery;
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook;
  • Possess reliable transportation, valid US driver’s license, and active insurance policy.

Working Environment:

  • A combination of standard office environment and ‘field’ time in and around the service delivery area.
  • May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
