Roving WASH Officer (Only South Sudanese national to apply)
The Roving WASH Officer will take the lead in ensuring timely and quality implementation of WASH activities on the USAID-funded Breakthrough ACTION-South Sudan (BA-SS). He/She will lead on planning and implementation of WASH activities which include – conducting community level adaptation workshops, testing of new prototypes/approaches within selected communities. The incumbent will work closely with the WASH Technical Specialist to train WASH staff (external) on the new prototypes/approached developed. He/she will als work closely with the BA-SS Community Engagement Advisor and Community Engagement Officer to ensure effective community engagement and participation in the project activities. the role Holder will conduct desktop review of tools and related documentation, compiling of workshop/training reports;
In order to be successful, one should have/bring:
Qualifications and experience
Degree in Public or Environmental Health.
A South Sudanese national
Good understanding of community driven programming approaches
Experience in planning and facilitating trainings and workshops
Understand the Community Led Total sanitation approach in the South Sudan context including other sanitation approaches and technologies
At least three years of work experience after graduation.
Excellent management and personnel skills to enable the motivation, encouragement and participation of other health team members
Ability to assess evolving emergency health needs quickly and calmly and work under pressure of tight deadlines
Excellent communication skills, with good spoken and written English and experience in report writing
Carry out any other responsibility as may be requested by his or her immediate superviso
Desirable
Knowledge of donor requirements and experience of NGO award management systems and processes
Knowledge of working with National Organizations and other interagency
Knowledge of the requirements and experience managing awards from major donors including budgeting, eligibility issues, compliance management, and reporting
Fluent in English
Contract Duration: 5 Months
Location: Rotational (Juba, Torit, Magwi )
