Purpose of the Position:

The Robotic Process Automation Technician will perform technical operations related to Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and associated technologies to support customer requests.

Objectives of the Programme:

The objectives of the Centre, as stated by its mandate, are to provide information and communication technology (ICT) services (including training) on an inter-organizational basis.

Main duties and responsibilities:

The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Head, Hyperautomation Solutions Unit within the Clients and Projects division and in close collaboration with the Hyperautomation Solutions team. The incumbent could be requested to perform any others tasks of similar level in related fields.

The incumbent will perform the following duties:

  • Provide day-to-day RPA support and maintenance for UNICC and its partners
  • Under guidance, resolve Tier-2 application issues and escalate Tier-3 issues to designated focal points
  • Assist in the evaluation, configuration and installation of new releases in accordance with established configuration management standards
  • Support the deployment of tools and implementation of processes to assist in operational support
  • Assist in responding to application-related queries from end users in remote locations
  • Perform knowledge transfers to Tier-1 and train end users on the usage of applications
  • Assist in the development and updating of software applications related documentation, including technical documentation and system reports; attend operational and other meetings
  • Provide standby and rotation on-call 24×7 support as required
  • Provide other ad hoc support either within your team or in other teams as required – this includes the participation in special projects or support to service delivery for short period of time on a part-time or full time basis upon request from the senior management

Recruitment Profile

Experience and Skills required:

Essential:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in application maintenance and general IT support, including some experience in a multicultural and global international organization
  • Good working knowledge of RPA technologies and relevant experience in the system administration area
  • Good working knowledge & experience of RPA frameworks
  • Continuous learning skills, willingness to improve knowledge and skills and learn new technologies
  • Familiarity with ITIL or relevant concepts and processes

Desirable:

  • Good working knowledge of multiple RPA platforms
  • Experience in drafting technical documentation
  • Ability to grasp complex concepts, logical and analytical approach to solving problems

Education:

Essential:

  • Completion of secondary school education or equivalent technical school

Desirable:

  • Certifications and advanced training in RPA Advanced Development and Intelligent document processing is desirable

Languages:

  • English: Expert knowledge is required

Eligibility:

This position is subject to local recruitment pursuant to staff rule 4.4 of the United Nations Staff Rules. All staff in the General Service and related categories shall be recruited in the country or within commuting distance of each office, irrespective of their nationality and of the length of time they may have been in the country. A staff member subject to local recruitment shall not be eligible for the allowances or benefits exclusively applicable to international recruitment.

Compensation:

Annual Salary Estimation (net of tax at single rate): EUR 39,799.

UNICC also offers generous leave and absence allowances, flexible working hours, overtime compensation, teleworking, access to training, and depending on eligibility other benefits such as relocation grant, dependency allowance, language allowance, or education grant.
