About The Role
As the Road Risk Manager you will develop and deploy a strategic plan to ensure a continuous improvement approach to managing Occupational Road Risk (ORR) across our business.
A key focus area is to engage with our extensive Branch network, Compliance team and Fleet teams to lead transformational change in ORR and best practice moving forwards. Through strategic and operational engagement, we are aiming for a zero harm, zero accident environment whilst continually reviewing our products, performance and standards to identify further areas for focus.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development in the implementation of the business wide strategy for Occupational Road Risk (ORR)
- Advocate and own the ORR procedures, review and approve where appropriate following any legislative change
- Ensure that the business toolbox talks, team talks and appropriate ORR training materials about health and safety issues and risks are current appropriate and delivered accordingly
- Encourage a positive incident reporting culture within the business (with the SHEQ & Compliance teams) including investigation and root causes analysis
- Assist in reviewing and updating the driver induction process and associated roll-outs of this
- Manage the driver training sessions with the Regional Directors & Business Support Managers including:
- New driver familiarisation
- Speed Awareness
- Post-incident investigation
- Ensure all staff follow the Occupational Road Risk policies

What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience of managing occupational road risk within a nationwide business
- Demonstrable experience of delivering change in an operational environment
- Strong analytical and presentation skills
- Able to operate and influence at all levels of the organisation
- Have excellent communication skills – be results orientated and tenacious
- Have an in-depth understanding of essential/relevant legislation
- Proactive approach to communicating and leading cultural change across a business, from boardroom to branch to workshop
- Commercial awareness, a high level of commercial understanding with experience of managing and controlling costs and budgets
- Good level of experience working on IT software systems, open minded and quick to learn new systems, good word and excel skills.
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel
