This is a 60 bedded service which has been established for over a century and is now a modern well regarded nursing & residential care service, particularly supporting those with mental health and enduring medical and mental health conditions such as dementia, depression, challenging behaviour, MND, Parkinson’s, Brain Injury and strokes, to name just a few. This building has been “home” to many men of all ages over the years including at times for those that fought in world war’s, so with shell shock, PTSD etc and as times have changed the care delivery and the patients needs, however, what hasn’t changed is the need for traditions in the care and support – which remains to be that each resident is treated with care and kindness. We are looking for a Nurse that really wants to be involved in the clinical and mental health care of the residents, someone who will challenge practice if need be and someone who has a big heart, and cares about the outcome for residents. Its a service which can have some challenging behaviour, so compassion, open mindness and an ability to work within these sorts of environments whether a clinical or mental health need is really needed.
