ABOUT THE FRED HOLLOWS FOUNDATION

The Foundation is an international development organisation working to prevent blindness and restore sight. This year marks The Foundation’s 30th anniversary of carrying on the legacy of Professor Fred Hollows, who believed every person had the right to quality eye care, no matter where they live. The Foundation has grown to work in more than 25 countries throughout Africa, South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and the Pacific, as well as Australia. The Foundation has restored sight to more than 2.5 million people worldwide. We have an ambitious five-year strategic plan that aims to take us even closer to realising our vision of a world in which no person is needlessly blind, or vision impaired and Indigenous Australians exercise their right to sight and good health.

ABOUT YOU

You will have a solid understanding of risk management, with a holistic mindset and focus on safeguarding the Foundation’s people, resources, data, and reputation. You will be able to communicate the value and importance of risk management clearly and effectively across a variety of audiences and stakeholders. You are a talented networker with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels.

You will have strong attention to detail, a process improvement mindset, coupled with strong time management and prioritization skills. Analytical skills and a curious mind are also highly valued. No two days are the same in this role and that diversity will be exciting to you

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Risk & Due Diligence Partner is responsible for the implementation of global risk management practices including, risk screening, facilitating due diligence on partners and embedding The Foundation’s enterprise risk management framework

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the outcomes of supporting Africa, UK & Middle East based teams and UK and Kenya Entities in executing effective risk management across The Foundation.
  • Undertaking all activities necessary to meet The Foundation’s risk and due diligence requirements with a focus on risk screening, partner due diligence, and enterprise risk management activities.
  • Providing operational support as part of the global Legal, Governance, Risk & Compliance team to meet all governance, compliance and risk management priorities and timelines
  • Building capability within and across teams to drive a culture of engagement and collaboration within The Foundation.
  • Other tasks as requested by your manager

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Demonstrated experience in implementing effective risk management practices
  • Familiarity with risk screening and due diligence concepts
  • Experience in international development & NFP sector
  • Operational experience in working with development/contracting partners
