Right to Work Associate – Protection Unit

1)Research and analysis

•Update and analyse existing data on Palestinian refugee’s access to the work place, particularly focusing on information from UNRWA’s youth, Technical and Vocational Education and Training and Youth programme (TVET), Education and Legal aid programmes.

•Improve data collection and strengthen reporting tools and methods on Palestinian refugees access to safe and dignified livelihoods

•Support coordination and exchange of information amongst relevant UNRWA departments including but not limited to (Education-TVET, Youth);

•Lead data gathering to inform advocacy on the right to work as appropriate. •Liaise with Palestinian groups working on this subject and coordinate with them.

2). Advocacy and awareness raising

•Lead or contribute to policy briefs or information materials on the right to work, supporting the identification of key messages and supporting the legal aid unit to develop and update awareness raising materials

•Conduct awareness raising in support of the youth unit and with employers as necessary

•Support round tables and other advocacy activities that promote the right to work of Palestinian refugees.
