RFP for Team Building Facilitation Services

Background

Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) through its office in Nairobi invites proposals for the provision of Team Building Facilitation Services.

CICan Kenya Office is holding a two-and-a-half-day team retreat on 4,5,6 May 2022. The venue of the event will be communicated to the successful facilitator. As part of that retreat, a one-and-a-half-day team building event will be held on 4^th May (half day afternoon) and 5^th May (full day). The workshop will provide an opportunity for staff to take a step back from the day-to-day work, and focus on team bonding, fun, motivational activities, as well as some skills enhancement in self-awareness, emotional intelligence, problem solving, change management, resilience, and trust building and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Objectives of the Team Building Event

The following are the specific objectives for the event:

1. To provide an opportunity for the team to get to know each other better, clarify roles, responsibilities, and expectations.

2. To reflect on progress made in Fiscal Year 2021.

3. To deliberate on the priorities for Fiscal Year 2022 and moving forward.

4. To provide the team with time for relaxation, self-care and team building to improve collaboration and work relationships.

5. To impart some skills in areas of self-awareness, empathy, emotional intelligence, problem solving, change management, trust building and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Scope of Work

While utilizing participatory adult learning approaches, and ensuring a safe and confidential space, the consultant will:

1. Develop a “roadmap” for the one-and-a-half-day event to share with 20 participants.

2. Facilitate themed learning sessions, group games/activities, and other sessions as applicable during the one and half days of the event.

3. Provide the required training materials, props etc. required for the team building activities.

4. Provide transportation and accommodation for the resource persons, if applicable.

Facilitators/Resource Persons Requirements

1. Proven track record of extensive consultancy experience of at least 5 years in facilitation of teambuilding, leadership skills training and knowledge sharing/reflection workshops.

2. Experience in events organizing/management preferred to ensure orderly conduct of the team building.

3. Demonstrated ability to ensure diversity, equity and inclusion are components of the leadership training.

1. Letter of expression of interest and demonstration of capability

2. At least three most recent NGO clients with whom you have engaged in similar assignments and their contact information, to act as references and description of previous team building events facilitated

3. Both a technical proposal (how you propose to undertake the assignment and content) and a financial quotation (cost in Kenyan shillings). The financial proposal should include the terms of payment. The technical proposal should include at least three video links of similar assignments

4. Curriculum vitae of key personnel

5. Proposed daily rate in Kenya Shillings with applicable taxes. CICan will provide transportation, accommodation, and meals of the team building facilitator

6. Valid Business License

7. Company/Organization Profile

8. KRA PIN certificate and valid KRA tax compliance certificate

Documents should be submitted as one PDF file of not more than 30 pages.

NOTE: Short-listed candidates will be asked to give a presentation including a brief introduction of the company / facilitator, proposed themes and activities, methodology, and how the team building shall be managed / conducted.
