ABOUT OXFAM

Oxfam is a global movement of people working together to end the injustice of poverty. That means we tackle the inequality that keeps people poor. Together we save, protect and rebuild lives. When disaster strikes, we help people build better lives for themselves, and for others. We take on issues like land rights, climate change and discrimination against women. And we won’t stop until every person on the planet can enjoy life free from poverty. We are an international confederation of 19 organizations (affiliates) working together with partners and local communities in the areas of humanitarian, development and campaigning, in more than 90 countries. All our work is led by three core values: Empowerment, Accountability, Inclusiveness. To read more about our values please click here

PURPOSE OF THIS RFP

Oxfam is planning to undertake a piece of two complementary scoping research to help inform Oxfam work and advocacy on valuing women’s work (VWW) and Gender-based Violence (SGBV). On VWW, this will require the development of a final report containing the following key components: mapping of the donors’ priorities in OPT, policy, and procedures and the extent they include valuing women’s work issues in their supported programs; the impact of these policies, positive and negative, on advancing efforts and progress on systematically addressing issues of valuing women’s work in conflict areas. On SGBV, this will require examining key donors’ funding (utilizing the mapping of donor’s priorities) and their contribution to SGBV programming including examining aid recipients, the impact of donor assistance on SGBV interventions in OPT, and its compatibility with the five principles of the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness, the quantity, and quality of aid and the impact of donor aid on institutional and policy reform on SGBV programming.
