Retiree Outreach Specialist

Position Summary

Assists with communication efforts to inform and engage members regarding their health care benefits. This position is responsible for assisting the Sr. Manager of Member Relations and Experience with member outreach initiatives with a primary focus on presenting to retiree audiences throughout the U.S.

Essential Functions

·       Conducts presentations regarding Trust benefits to a variety of member audiences with a health education and customer service centric approach.

·       Coordinates logistics for travel, audio/video support and other materials for meetings.

·       Captures event, member feedback; trends and escalate member issues as necessary.

·       Assist Senior Manager in training and communicating changes with Trust contractors.

·       Meets with cross functional teams on developments that impact members.

·       Interfaces with UAW, carriers, and other stakeholders to accommodate needs of retiree members.

·       Acts as point of reference to intake member issues to escalate to Trust as necessary.

·       Organizes and tracks meeting schedule of events using event management software.

·       Maintains and develops training for contractor to ensure ongoing knowledge sharing of benefits and objectives.

Technical Competencies

·       Exceptional organizational, presentation and interpersonal skill sets.

·       Detailed knowledge of health plan design and benefits with an emphasis on Medicare and coordination of other benefits.

·       Ability to review, summarize and interpret complex information into easy-to-understand terms.

·       Ability to manage time and complete projects within deadlines while maintaining professional demeanor.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Applications.

Minimum Required Experience

·       Demonstrated presentation skills with interaction with large audiences.

 

Education, Professional Certifications and Licensure

·       Bachelor’s Degree (Communications, Marketing or Business major)

  • Valid driver’s license.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • The physical requirements of this position are typical of office work.
  • Travel 80 percent on average and more during peak periods.
