Summarily, this position which is based in Rockville, MD, is responsible for providing administrative support to Mortgage Loan Officers in Sales, Marketing, Pre and Post-Application activities.Essential FunctionsPerform specific tasks assigned by Loan Officer including but not limited to taking applications, quoting rates, describing product, assisting in the timely submission of complete loan application files, preparing loan documents for closing ensuring full compliance and quality of loan documentation, coordinates and proactively communicates with other departments, customers and loan officer to ensure a smooth loan application process, and any other activities to assist the Loan Officer in the loan origination process.Assist in marketing Realtors, Builders, and third party referral sources to increase production.Interact with partners (processing/closing/UW ) to provide the best customer service and most efficient origination practices.Ensure files move through processing and closing in a timely manner.Establish appointments with members.Work with members to complete necessary documents.Promptly respond to member���s questions and concerns.Follow up with members at all times, keeping them informed of the loan process.Systematically store and maintain member data and files.Daily illustration of excellent customer service skills with clients and applicants to ensure member retention.Participate in special projects and assignments under the direction of the VP of Mortgage Lending, VP of Mortgage Originations, and/or the SVP of Mortgage Lending.Be responsible for understanding and complying in an accurate and timely basis with all Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering/OFAC requirements that pertain to your position at LFCU and as directed by management and/or the SVP of Risk Management.RequirementsQualified candidates will have:ExperienceThree years of residential mortgage experience preferredEducationHigh school diploma or GED equivalentInterpersonal SkillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Ability to make sound decisions based on company policies and procedures.Ability to meet deadlines while prioritizing a changing workload.A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating, influencing or training others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.Must have the ability to interact with people and focus on details and follow-up on time sensitive material.Other SkillsMust have working knowledge, or the ability to learn mortgage-related programs and possesses the ability to facilitate training Adept in MS Office applications including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel and other applications.Physical RequirementsThis position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open cabinets.This position requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
