ReStore Manager

Habitat for Humanity International

The ReStore Manager is responsible and accountable to the Executive Director for the effective and efficient operation of the Genesee County Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Must have a comprehensive knowledge and organizational skills to manage an expanding retail operation. The successful candidate will develop strategies to improve customer experience, drive store sales both online and in-store, increase profitability, create store policies and marketing programs that will help support the Habitat for Humanity Mission and overall success. ReStore Manager must be self- motivated and able to motivate ReStore staff, and work as a team to accomplish goals and objectives.

General Administration

Assists in screening, hiring, and termination of ReStore staff. Provides direction, training, guidance and supervision for staff. Supports the activities of the committees, staff and board. Oversees all store activities including staffing, marketing, procurement of donated items and financial activities. Assists in general office operations and approves operational and building expenditures.

Fund Raising And Public Relations

Works with the Development Director and Volunteer Coordinator to help facilitate events and programs. Create and contribute to the affiliate publications and website. Develop ReStore partnerships and marketing strategies that ensure its continued growth. Build partnerships with area builders, distributors and retailers to build ReStore donations. Provide positive visibility of the GCHFH affiliate throughout Genesee County, Michigan and wherever HFHI serves.

Recruitment And Training

Fulfill any necessary administrative or operational function for the store. Assists in recruiting people from the community to volunteer. Assists with orientations for volunteers and homeowners. Assists in the arrangement of training opportunities for board, committee members and staff. In coordination with all Department Supervisors help manage policies and procedures in customer service areas, employee relations, quality assurance and safety.

Qualifications

The ReStore manager must have servant leadership skills that are compatible with the principles and purposes of Habitat for Humanity. 3+ years retail and operations experience are required. Superior time-management and organizational skills and the ability to help others in this area.

Experience in financial and administrative management, including budgeting, accounting, and personnel procedures. Demonstrate leadership skills. Ability to establish, foster and maintain effective working relationships with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, the public, and community service agencies. A working knowledge of standard business software, and valid drivers license.

Staff Support

Observe, evaluate, coach, train and develop ReStore Team. Effectively communicate GCHFH Mission, store objectives, and performance expectations. Ability to provide direction in a positive and affirming manner. Ability to work with and motivate employees and volunteers with a wide range of skills and abilities.

Position

Store operates Tuesday – Saturday 9-5. Employees arrive before 8:30 and work until 5 with a 30- minute lunch break or 8-5 with a hour lunch break. This is a full-time exempt position. Benefits include health insurance, holiday, vacation, and personal time off. Salary is 38,000 – 45,760 based on experience. We are an equal opportunity employer.
