Research Facilitation Officer – FEPS

The University’s Research Strategy Team is seeking an enthusiastic Research Facilitation Officer for the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences (FEPS). This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work in the Higher Education sector alongside senior management and academics to facilitate research related activities, identify and report funders’ priorities and new policies and become an active member of the University’s Research Strategy Team.

Initially, this is a 12-month appointment with the possibility of being extended or made permanent.

Under the guidance of the FEPS Associate Dean of Research and Innovation, the Faculty Executive Dean and working alongside the existing Research Facilitation Officer and the Faculty Research & Innovation Manager, the post holder will proactively engage with academic staff and become the main contact for coordinating and disseminating all Faculty research related activities and contribute to the delivery of the University’s Research Strategy.

The successful candidate should be self-motivated with strong organisational skills and have:

  • Experience of Higher Education Research Environment preferably with experience of Engineering and Physical Sciences research; although this is not essential
  • Experience of planning and progressing work activities within general guidelines, using initiative and judgement, without reference to senior staff
  • Experience of giving presentations and coordinating and delivering workshops with the ability to present information at different levels to both individuals and groups of staff
  • Excellent organisation and project management skills
  • Experience of peer review process

Please note – appointment will be made within this salary range dependent upon appropriate skills and experience.
