REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS: CLIMATE EMERGENCY AND HUMANITARIAN HEALTH SITUATIONAL ANALYSIS

ELRHA

The R2HC programme aims to improve health outcomes for people affected by humanitarian crises by strengthening the evidence base for public health interventions.

R2HC is seeking a consultant with expertise in public health and climate change to conduct a situational analysis of the impacts of climate emergency on humanitarian health, to map out what other funders and organisations are doing in this space, and to recommend a potential niche for R2HC.

The purpose of this assignment is to provide Elrha’s R2HC programme with options for strategic engagement in the intersection of the climate emergency and health research in humanitarian contexts, across the areas of Nutrition, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MPHSS), Infectious Disease Prevention and Response (including vector-borne disease), Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Non-Communicable Disease, and Health Systems.

The assignment is predominantly desk research, but does include some key informant interviews to better understand what other organisations are doing in this space. The deliverables include a database of stakeholders active in the climate emergency and health space, and a final report with recommendations for a way forward for R2HC.

TIMELINE

The intended start date is March 2024. We expect this work will take a total of 25 days, with the contract ending in October 2024.
