Position Summary

Ruoff Renovation Department is looking to add a new Loan Officer to our team! We are looking for a loan officer who thrives in a fast paced and ever changing mortgage-lending environment, and has an interest in the renovation process.

You will be responsible for the residential mortgage loan process from application to closing, including providing ethical guidance to both your borrowers and contractors involved in each loan. At Ruoff we take pride in always doing the right thing for our customers, ensuring that our actions and behaviors provide the best customer experience possible.

You will be joining a tight knit and supportive team who encourages openly exchanging ideas and providing a positive work environment. Internal leads provided, as well as additional support to grow external business.

Essential Responsibilities

• Develop referral contacts (realtors, contractors, professional and personal contacts)
• Maintain knowledge of available loan products and Ruoff’s policies and procedures.
• Take borrower’s applications by completing the Uniform Residential Mortgage Application.
• Collect appropriate documentation from each borrower and contractor.
• Provide accurate and ethical guidance to borrowers and contractors.
• Manage pipeline to ensure proper follow up with leads while driving live applications to closing.
• Communicate with management, referral partners, and borrowers to provide timely status updates.
• Maintain high levels of customer service for each borrower and contractor.

This position will be located at Ruoff’s Corporate HQ in Fort Wayne, IN, and is not a remote position.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Minimum of two years residential mortgage lending experience.
• Must hold an active NMLS license to originate in Indiana.
• High school diploma or equivalent mandatory. Four-year college degree preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of conventional AND government lending guidelines.
• Knowledge of residential mortgage lending processing, underwriting, and closing procedures.
• Comfortable determining a scope of work outlined in a contractor bid.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong desire to excel in a competitive sales environment.
• Strong organizational skills.
