The National Portrait Gallery houses a unique collection of all forms of portraiture of the people who have made or are currently contributing to British history and culture; the collection is the most comprehensive of its kind in the world. With around 2 million visitors each year prior to temporary closure for the Inspiring People project and a strong national and international presence through touring exhibitions and special projects, the Gallery is one of the country s most important and popular galleries. Events ManagerPlease double check you have the right level of experience and qualifications by reading the full overview of this opportunity below. £32,000 per annum Full-time, 40 hours per week Fixed Term Contract for 22 months Home (up to 2 days) and Site Based The Gallery hosts approximately 180 out of hours events per year. This includes a number of internal events, corporate partner and sponsor bookings and private venue hires. Events range from internal private views; fundraising dinners, Director s Reception, Trustees Dinner and portrait unveilings to external venue hire receptions and dinners and the occasional fashion show and product launch. We are looking for a talented events professional with proven event management experience, ideally gained in a heritage or arts organisation. They will be able to make a significant contribution to the Gallery s ambitious venue hire income and fundraising events targets and be responsible for managing and delivering well-executed sponsor, client and Gallery hosted events as well as actively promoting the Gallery as a unique entertaining venue. This is an opportunity for a self-starter, with experience in managing client and donor relationships, who can deliver these series of events simultaneously to a very high standard.
