Job Description:

The Release Management-Senior function helps manage the software release process end-to end, from planning of release content (code and configuration, etc.) through to the actual release deployment to path to production environments (Test, User Acceptance Test, Production). Senior-level professional experienced in all aspect of release management. Encompasses full knowledge… required within the release management area. Typically designs and develops approaches that are implemented by others. Functions with minimal oversight and direction. Provides technical guidance to peers.

Job Essentials
��� Coordinates release management activities, schedules and resource allocation needs through coordination across teams (project management, product owners, IS operations, software development, vendors, cross-platform teams, etc.) for assigned projects.
��� Assists in defining and subsequently monitor and measure software release management activities and processes. Assists in the continuous process improvement activities for all software release functions throughout the software development lifecycle.
��� Creates concise and complete packaging and documentation related to software packaging and software releases, including configuration management for assigned projects. Facilitates the review process to ensure all stakeholders are aware of the impacts of a software release.
��� Ensures that documentation is adequate to safely promote the software solution (e.g. appropriate back-out planning, repeatable process exists, risk assessment has been conducted etc.).
��� Ensures appropriate version control of code, configurations, services, and documentation associated with the release management function.
��� Works with the development teams to manage the build process (scripts, branching strategies, etc.). Assists in making recommendations for improvements of tools that improve the release management function.
��� Collaborates with technical teams to resolve all release related issues. Ensures that issues are resolved in a timely manner. Assists in preventing similar issues from occurring in the future.
��� Provides leadership and direction and resource management planning for project teams, when assigned the lead role.
��� Collaborates as assigned with the software development/vendors and QA teams to ensure that adequate hardware environments are available to support the Software Development Lifecycle and business needs.
��� Complies with all enterprise change management standards and related procedures. Documents all change management activities are ensures that they are approved prior to the release of the solution into the production environment.
��� Participates in service management standing meetings where appropriate (Change Review, Problem Investigation, Incident Trending etc.).
��� Supports off-hours releases of code when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information management or related IT field. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.

Four years equivalent technical experience (e.g. IS service management, software engineering, application support).
��� and –

Four years of experience in change management, service management, release management, configuration management processes or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
��� and –

Two years of technical project management experience

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in computer science or related IT field.

ITIL certification

Three experience working in a healthcare environment

Experience with software development lifecycle and different development paradigms (agile, waterfall, etc.)
��� and –

Excellent communication skills
��� and –

Excellent interpersonal skills
��� and –

Knowledge of multiple computing platforms (.NET, JAVA, etc.)
��� and –

Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies
