JOB CONTEXT:

HI is seeking candidates for a Technical Specialist position for a USAID-funded project, Learning, Acting and Building for Rehabilitation in Health Systems (ReLAB-HS).

ReLAB-HS aims to support development of health systems that are responsive to the escalating challenge of addressing the growing needs for rehabilitation within populations. It seeks to co-design and implement innovative, comprehensive, cost-effective interventions that strengthen health systems for provision of rehabilitation including assistive technology. ReLAB-HS will focus on integrating rehabilitation and assistive technology services across all levels of care within health systems. The ReLAB-HS consortium comprises of six international partners with expertise in health systems, implementation science, and delivery innovations. Jonhs Hopkins University and University of Melbourne are the consortium lead and co-lead; other consortium members are Humanity & Inclusion, Miraclefeet, Momentum Wheels for Humanity, Physiopedia.

ReLAB-HS implements activities in Pakistan, Myanmar, Ukraine and Uganda. HI is a member of the consortium and the lead partner for activities’ implementation in Pakistan and Myanmar ; in addition, HI provides technical assistance in crosscutting areas to all countries and consortium partners.

YOUR MISSION:

Under the responsibility of the RELAB-HS Chief of Party, the RELAB Technical Specialist contributes within the country where he/she is based to the implementation of the mandate and the 10-year strategy of Humanity & Inclusion. He/she ensures optimal quality and impact of the projects implemented in the country, through a delegation system with appropriate control mechanisms. He/she shares with all HI managers the responsibility of a sound management and successful functioning of the global organization, through paradigm changes.

The ReLAB-HS Technical Specialist:

· acts as technical focal point for HI within the consortium, together with HI ReLAB-HS technical officers

· ensures technical support is provided to HI country teams (Pakistan and Myanmar), either directly or indirectly though the mobilization of HI experts, in particular to the Rehabilitation Officer, Communication Officer, Inclusion Officers in rehabilitation, health system strengthening, inclusive development, advocacy and research as needed

· coordinates the provision of technical assistance for crosscutting domains to the consortium partners and 4 country teams

· Ensures regular information to the Rehab division

Responsibility 1 : EXPERTISE

-You contribute to the regional strategies in line with global strategies

-You act as a technical focal point for HI within the consortium

-You coordinate technical assistance as defined in HI’s scope of work within ReLAB-HS Activity

-You ensure technical support to ReLAB-HS team projects

-You ensure technical learning from activity

-You ensure the control & monitoring of the technical quality and the relevance of HI’s activities in ReLAB-HS

-You ensure compliance of the technical proposition with nexus stakes

-You contribute to the development of research and innovation components as part of the ReLAB-HS strategy

-You contribute to the HI Technical Divisions professional channel development

Responsibility 2 : INFLUENCE

-You contribute to the local external prestige and influence of HI’s expertise

Responsibility 3 : BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

-You ensure the development of opportunities or new project in the scope of ReLAB-HS

YOUR PROFILE:

· You hold a degree in physical and functional rehabilitation disciplines and in Public Health

· You have at least 4 years of experience in international development providing technical support to local teams

· You have experience in provision of technical assistance to external partners

· You are familiar with rehabilitation system strengthening and global rehabilitation and AT initiatives

· You understand telerehabilitation, education of health and rehabilitation workforce in low income countries

· You are familiar with principles and practices of inclusive development

· You are able to work efficiently on a remote basis and in complex working environments

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POSITION:

Due to the Military Coup on February 1st and the COVID situation in the region, the Program must adapt its set-up and expectations. This is why this position shall be located first in Cambodia with possible relocalization to Yangon in a second phase. In Myanmar, the security and administrative contexts are harder than in Cambodia.

· 3 years International contract starting from July 2022

· The international contract provides social cover adapted to your situation:**

o Pension scheme adapted to the situation of our employees: If you already have a personal pension scheme HI will contribute at the same level of your personal monthly contribution with a maximum of 272.53€/month ; If you do not have a personal pension scheme, we will open a private pension account with your contribution of 272.53€/month and a contribution of HI of the same amount**

o Medical coverage with 50% of employee contribution **

o Repatriation insurance paid by HI**

· Salary from 2757 € gross/month upon experience

· Perdiem: 573 € net/month – paid in the field

· Paid leaves: 25 days per year;

· R&R: 1 day per month

· Position:

o unaccompanied

§ Payment for travel costs (air ticket & visa) and transport of your personal effects

§ A child allowance of 100€ per month, per child (from the second child) paid in the field

o open to couples

§ Support travel costs (air ticket & visa) for accompanying dependent and health/ repatriation insurance if the dependent has no income/

§ payment of one yearly additional return flight

o open to families

§ Contribution to school registration fees for children over 3 years

§ Family-wide health coverage

· Payment for travel costs (air ticket & visa) and transport of your personal effects **

· Housing: individual taken in charge by HI**
