The Registered Nurse coordinates and evaluates patient care and provides nursing care according to the job description and Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses on Ward B3.
- Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
- Current BLS certification
- Recent 3-5 years’ experience in acute medicine or surgery required
- Hamilton Health Sciences’ Critical Practice Orientation (CPO) training required Or external equivalent
- Recent 2 years critical care experience required
- Minimum 2 years’ experience and skill in ECG (3 lead and 12 lead) interpretation, hemodynamic pressure monitoring, the care of noninvasive ventilated patients and defibrillation
- Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, teamwork and leadership skills
- Knowledge of the nursing care plan and evidence of ability to utilize problem-solving and critical-thinking techniques effectively in acute medical and critical care settings
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and shifting demands
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team

Unit Summary
Ward B3 is part of the Juravinski Hospital’s Medicine Clinical Teaching Unit (CTU). The unit cares for a diverse patient population that includes two (2) cardiac critical care beds, three (3) medicine observational care beds and ten (10) acute medicine beds.
