The purpose of the Logistics Manager position in a Country Office, is to have responsibility for ensuring that the logistic set up is according to NRC’s standards, and to support programme/project implementation.
Generic responsibilities
The Logistics Manager is overall responsible for:
- Ensure that country set up comply with Logistics Handbook, NRC policies and donor requirements
- Implement NRC’s logistics systems and procedures
- Training and support of line managers and staff with logistical responsibilities
- Management of the logistics team
- Ensure anti-corruption focus in procedures and trainings
- Establish filing systems/archives according to NRC standards in all offices
- Initiate and maintain necessary leases, licenses and contracts with relevant authorities and suppliers
- Provide regular analysis and reports
- Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy
Specific responsibilities
- Ensure the timely delivery of logistics support services to all NRC COprojects
- Assist in logistics budget preparation and follow up and manage allocated budget lines
- Development of formalized in-country logistics policy documentation in line with NRC Global procedures
- Support on and develop relevant logs training including coaching of newly recruited senior Logistics staff in all Area Offices (AO)
- Oversight and coordination of market analysis by logistics staff to support project modality decisions with analysis of the functionality and accessibility of markets local to target populations.
- Setup key performance measures for all aspects of logistics activities and regularly review them against actual performance.
- Close and regular communication, coordination and planning with all logistics and program heads in all NRC AO
- Capacity building of staff
- Directly assisting and contributing to program and project design, including budget development
- Provide audit and control checks to the AOs to ensure compliance to the logistics handbook

Generic professional competencies:
- Minimum 5 years of experience from working as a senior Logistics Manager in a humanitarian/recovery context
- Advanced knowledge and expertise in logistics
- Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Experience of data collection, analysis and report writing
- Knowledge of market analysis tools and approaches
- Knowledge and skills in market assessments, analysis and cash-based interventions
- Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
- Fluency in English and French or Spanish, both written and verbal

Duty station: Roving
Travel: Up to 75%
Duration and type of contract: Fixed term, till 31 December 2023
Salary: Based upon NRC grading scale.
