The Opportunity

The Project Officer will be deployed to the Gaza emergency response, working to support the advocacy, campaigns, communications and media response function. Working under the Regional Humanitarian Policy and Advocacy Lead, the post-holder will work across the occupied Palestinian territory country office, the Lebanon country office and the Egypt country office to ensure a coordinated response across each office and the four ACCM functions. This includes, coordinating sign off processes for new products and messaging, keeping track of activity trackers, and ensuring updates are shared regularly across the Save the Children movement. Including getting input on tracking activities from other offices outside of the region who are working on the response. The post-holder will also be required to translate into Arabic statements, products, and social media content as and when required.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

• Support / Lead on setting up project management system for the ACCM response function

• Oversee activity, actions, and outputs from across the functional leads, and country leads – ensuring this is regularly tracked and shared with the response leads, including the oPt Advocacy Director and the Regional Humanitarian Policy and Advocacy Lead

• Manage the development of activity and output trackers for the response, including those designed for offices outside of the region – e.g. member offices working on the ACCM response to ensure that all activities and outputs are regularly captured

• Oversee the sign off process of new products, statements, press releases, and communications and content for the response, ensuring this is done on time, and a clear process is followed by all members of the team to ensure smooth sign off

• Translate documents, statements, and content as and when required to support the response and public engagement

• Take meeting minutes and share these in a timely manner with relevant stakeholders, with key actions points identified and followed up on.

• Any other activities as outlined by the Regional Humanitarian Advocacy and Policy Lead.

General

• Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child safeguarding, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.

In order to be successful, you will bring/have:

• Previous experience of project management in some capacity (1-3 years)

• Strong organisations skills and abilities

• Ability to work on multiple areas and across multiple teams smoothly

• Experience in note-taking

• Excellent communication skills

• A high level of written and spoken English and Arabic, and able to translate clearly and accurately

• Commitment to the aims and principles of SC. In particular, a good understanding of the SC mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support

Desirable:

• Experience of monitoring and evaluation with an understanding of key concepts, activity, output, outcomes etc.

• Experience of advocacy, campaigns, communications or media
