Starting salary for this position is £34,572 per annum (plus contributory pension)

About MAG:

MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is an international humanitarian organisation based in Manchester, UK, and working in 32 countries. We remove landmines and unexploded ordnance to release safe and productive land for communities, and work to reduce the threat of armed violence by supporting governments to safely manage weapons and ammunition. In 1997, MAG was a co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize for our work campaigning for the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention.

About the role:

We are currently seeking two Regional Programme Support Coordinators to provide support to MAG’s lifesaving programmes around the globe. Reporting to a Regional Programme Support Manager, you will act as the focal point for a challenging portfolio of international programmes in one of our global regions. The role incorporates key aspects of developing and supporting projects, including grant management, proposal development and reporting and internal stakeholder engagement, providing the opportunity to test your skills in a truly international role.

About you:

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic self-starter with experience of developing and supporting programmes, ideally with experience of working with a wide range of institutional donors. Excellent planning and organisational skills are essential, with the ability to prioritise a busy and varied workload. Strong verbal and written communication skills are also essential for this role. With excellent project management and interpersonal skills, you will be creative, flexible, solution-focused, professional and committed to MAG’s goals. Experience of working overseas would be beneficial.

Experience and understanding of technical issues relating to mine action are not essential for this post; more importantly is your commitment to international humanitarian and capacity building principles. We see these roles as a stepping stone for those wanting to work towards a career in international programmes. The role will be based in our Manchester Office for at least three days a week and will involve regular international travel to countries within the designated portfolio.

What you can expect in return:

  • Competitive salary
  • 25 days annual leave per year, plus public holidays.
  • Company pension (matching at 5%)
  • Employee Assistance Programme: MAG offers free access to Health Assured, a service providing 24/7 confidential support and expert advice on a wide range of issues.
