You will focus on supporting and coordinating Samaritan’s Purse Field Offices in Niger, Liberia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) as it relates the pursuit and development of programs and grant proposals in West Africa. A day in the life of a Regional Program Development Officer:

In the role of Regional Program Development Officer, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him.
  • Develop programming and proposals for Samaritan’s Purse West Africa field offices using current Samaritan’s Purse program models and best practices.
  • Build relationships on behalf of Samaritan’s Purse in West Africa field offices with bilateral donors, International Non-governmental Organizations, and other agencies.
  • Align with the various Samaritan’s Purse Country Directors regarding the rules and regulations of the field office to ensure that they are aware of all meetings, progress and ideas being formulated.
  • Build capacity of Samaritan’s Purse in West Africa field offices in general program development skills, behavior change communication, and qualitative evaluation skills.
  • Ensure that all proposals follow timetables that allow for the input/review by the technical advisors and the finance department and involve the Technical Advisory Unit in the concept development process of grant submissions.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree (M. A.) or equivalent in international development preferred but not required, five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Study in a related field &/or strong field based experience will be considered
  • Technical writing skills including developing proposals, training/instruction manuals, and reports
  • Working knowledge of the grant submission processes of major donors including the USAID and WFP.
  • Field experience in the implementation of relief and development programming.
  • Experience in working with cross-cultural and cross-denominational Christians.
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, opportunity to meet and complete requirement is available upon hire.

Job Location: Niamey, Niger – supporting all three West Africa offices in Niger, Liberia, and DRC

Type: Full-Time

Language Requirement: Fluency in English (required); French strongly preferred

**Travel Expectations:**Travel to field sites as necessary; required travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary
