Partner with senior leaders and site management teams to develop and execute WHS RME strategies that build organizational and people capabilities across the region. You will think strategically, as well as roll up your sleeves and dive deep to identify systemic gaps and deploy practical solutions. Work with stakeholders to continuously improve WHS RME Program requirements; effective deployment of high-risk operations standards and procedures, Risk management and mitigation actions, Incident management, Inspection, Audit & Assurance, Training & communication. Support MENA RME Leadership engage with technicians and third-party partners encourage active involvement through clearly defined expectations and ownership, with a strong ���Bias for action��� escalating safety issues, using stop work authority when needed, and support peer review safety programs. Use Safety Leadership Index (SLI) to��� Dive deep��� into site safety engagement and partner with country / site RME management to identify gaps and drive improvement actions that support overall safety culture. Ensure Technician Safety Concerns are captured and promptly addressed or escalated at the site, regional or network level. Apply the Amazon Global WHS Risk Assessment methodology to create a country / site risk profile to assess effectiveness of current risk controls, identify and prioritize targeted risk mitigation projects, track and communicate progress through the Goal setting process. Invent new ways to raise awareness and capabilities of the MENA RME teams to reach deep understanding of the inherent RME risks and effectively mitigate those risks. Establish and support incident investigation, escalation and reporting structures ensuring timely notification and collaboration on root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions implementation. Review incidents to determine lessons learnt to share across the network through WHS Alerts or RME Safety Network Actions leveraging site RME / WHS teams to develop content through the WHS Communications process. Support Amazon���s Contract Risk Management (CRM) program, ensure site RME teams are executing on contractor induction and ensure compliance with regulatory and Amazon WHS policy requirements. Partner with equipment OEMs, Ops / Engineering, RME SMEs, on equipment related incidents where design or retrofits may be necessary across multiple business units. Support the WHS governance and compliance organizations to evaluate regulatory misses for network corrective action related to RME.A day in the lifeYou will define and implement WHS RME MENA strategy and programs that; encourage high engagement across all levels; drive risk reduction programs; deliver sustainable continuous performance improvements within a high-risk operation work environment. You will be responsible for driving the regional programs to continuously improve the safety and well being of our associates and our third-party partners. We have established leading and lagging key performance indicators to measure safety performance to hold ourselves and our business partners accountable.Basic QualificationsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor���s Degree in safety or related science, Reliability & Maintenance, Engineering (RME) from an accredited university Must possess a minimum of 7+ years��� work experience in WHS, RME, Engineering, Quality and/or high-risk operations. You are able to interface at all levels of leadership and across field organization. Diagnose problems, identify and drive appropriate solutions, demonstrate problem solving and analytical capability, acts decisively, promptly and confidently. You’ll have highly developed written & verbal communication skills, analytical ability, dive deep problem solving, agility to function in a fast paced and innovative environment. Experience in program implementation or managing contractors in the following programs: Fall Hazard Control, Electrical Safe Work, Hazardous Energy Control (LOTO), Conveyors & Machine Safeguarding, Confined Spaces, Hot Work and System Impairment, Fire Protection Systems, PIT / aerial lifts, Cranes, Hoisting & Rigging. Able to travel 30% of the time.Preferred QualificationsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master���s degree in a related field Have or working towards recognized safety certifications such as ASP, ESP, CIH, RLI, NEBOSH, or CHMM certification. Working knowledge of regional regulatory requirements and standards (ISO, etc.) Experience in deploying & working with online WHS systems. (eg Gensuite). Six Sigma Green Belt certified or equivalent Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability. Experience in technical, standards, or program writing.
