Position: Regional Maintenance Technician Location: Notts and Derby SM Salary: £30,560 plus vehicle and other benefits (see below) – salaries include on call allowance Full Time and Permanent – 45 hours a week On Call – On a rolling 1 in 4 rota for Emergency out of Hours Issues Benefits: Company van (with option for private use), pension, private medical, death in service, overtime and 33 days annual holiday (25 days + 8 bank holidays) We are advertising this role on behalf of our client ‘City Facilities Management’. We are looking to recruit a Regional Maintenance Technician who will be looking after the planned and reactive maintenance in Notts Derby area Ideal candidates will be based in and around the Notts and Derby areas. JOB PURPOSE: To maintain and repair the general building fabric, Minor Roofing Repairs, Also Plumbing / Drainage tasks in ASDA Supermarkets as defined in an efficient and cost-effective manner. whilst complying with the laid-down Company Health and Safety policy. This encompasses both Planned Maintenance and Reactive repairs. The role is ideally placed for a Multi Skilled Tradesman who has worked previously in a Maintenance environment. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To represent the company in a professional manner at all times and develop a good working relationship with City and ASDA colleagues.
  • To ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and to the laid-down procedures.
  • To order spares to the laid-down procedures.
  • To identify non-repairable issues and promptly advise the Regional Facilities Manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable alternatives.
  • To advise the GSM of any repair and maintenance issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the store.
  • To manage the attendance of subcontractors and assist ASDA Management in the appraisal of subcontractors’ performance.
  • To carry out minor alterations and installations within the individual’s technical competence in accordance with current specifications.
  • To complete general repairs and maintenance to ASDA store sites as designated by the Regional Facilities Manager, e.g. repairs to the building fabric, Car Park Surfaces, Minor roof repairs, Pluming and Drainage repairs and any associated Car Park Signage or Furniture.
  • To assist RE in other areas when requested to do so by the Operations Manager.
  • To ensure all tools and equipment necessary (as per company tool list) to complete maintenance and repairs are available and serviceable at all times.
  • To liaise with project teams on store alterations, modernisations and other relevant works.
  • To maintain accurate input of data for hours on site and materials used via company Applications.
  • To attend training courses as and where necessary and to ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical developments.
  • To comply with the company Health and Safety Policy at all times.
  • To work with company and ASDA colleagues to ensure laid-down standards of quality are maintained at all times.
  • To comply with any other reasonable request or instruction from the Operations Manager.
  • Prioritising maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales is a key part of this role.
  • This mobile role will be home based. THE PERSON: To be considered for this position, the following qualifications and papers are required and are essential requirements of the role:
  • Full driving licence
  • Building Trade Qualification (NVQ/City & Guilds)
  • Competent in the use of steps and landers
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours
  • Ability to maintain/repair a range of building fabrics and ground works, to recognised standards
