Regional Community Engagement & Partnerships Lead

International Planned Parenthood Federation

The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) is a global sexual and reproductive health (SRH) service provider and is a leading advocate of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for all. IPPF is a global movement of more than 120 national organizations, referred to as Member Associations (Mas), working with and for communities and individuals, especially the vulnerable and marginalised.

IPPF-ESEAOR is the regional expression of the Federation in East, Southeast Asia and Oceania Region. It has a regional headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and a sub-regional office in Suva, Fiji, to cater to the Pacific Mas.

The two offices in Fiji and Malaysia support the MAs to increase access to SRHR services to the most vulnerable youth, men, and women in the region. IPPF-ESEAOR works with local civil-society organizations, governments, regional inter-governmental bodies, the United Nations, among others, to expand political and financial commitments to SRHR in Asia-Pacific. IPPF-ESEAOR tackles the growing SRH challenges through a network of Member Associations (MAs), strategic partners, and volunteers in 24 countries. For more information, please read our 2022 profile https://www.eseaor.ippf.org/about-us

In November 2022, IPPF held its General Assembly in Bogota, Colombia where all Members Associations adopted a new Strategy, entitled: Come Together – Strategy 2028. The new Strategy calls for major changes to make IPPF well-equipped to uphold SRHR. The Strategy further commits IPPF to shaping laws, policies, and norms through feminist action and international solidarity; and to nurturing the federation, addressing shortcomings and adding new impetus for real and lasting impact.

In alignment with the new strategy, the IPPF-ESEAOR is seeking an individual to fill the position of “Regional Community Engagement & Partnerships Lead” to bringing in, through partnerships, those who have been historically excluded from our services, our offices and our societies because of the colour of your skin, disability status, injecting drug use, sex work, HIV status, sexual identity or gender expression.

Reporting to the Regional External Relations Director, the position holder will be bringing the lived experience and the strategic thinking of regional community networks inside, establish ‘beachheads’ that will allow marginalised communities to step inside the Secretariat/Federation and shake us up. This is a role for someone who brings their own lived experience and regional networks, who prioritizes collaboration and connection. This work will go beyond the Federation to amplify messages, build alliances and consortia and re-grant to movements and initiatives that matter.
