Based on our Christian values and more than 100 years of professional expertise, we address poverty as a cause and a consequence of disability. We work in partnership to create an inclusive society for all. For our CBID (Community based Inclusive Development) initiative, we are looking for a Regional CBID Advisor – Americas – part-time (50% – 20h a week on average). This position is based on Guatemala City (preferred), Honduras or Nicaragua. With contractual conditions of Guatemala. An expatriation is not intended.

These are your responsibilities

  • Support the global work of the CBID Initiative.
  • Implement the CBID Initiative plan in the Americas in alignment with other CBID advisors in the region.
  • Contribute to the continuous development and implementation of the CBID Capacity Development & Training programme with local partners.
  • Contribute to the development and review of tools, guidelines, technical documents of the CBID Initiative as relevant with local partners in the region – Americas.
  • Strengthen CBID capacities in the Americas.
  • Provide direct technical support to CBM Country Offices and partners’ staff on CBID: Conduct field / monitoring visits, Organise and run face-to-face and online CBID capacity development workshops and trainings alongside Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs).
  • Participate in the development of CBID proposals for Legally Contracted Designated Funds (LCDF) funding opportunities.
  • Support Country Offices in building strategic alliances with key actors internally and externally to advocate for Disability inclusive programming.
  • Facilitate evidence based CBID-practice linked with programmatic interventions.

These are your qualifications

  • Master degree in social science or related field will be an advantage.
  • Professional experience of ten (10) years in national or international NGOs, working in human rights with preference in inclusion and disabilities, in management of development projects/programmes at a senior level.
  • In-depth knowledge in development and inclusion theory and practice and community development.
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering technical assistance for civil society organisations, including organisations of persons with disabilities and/or public administration.
  • Experience in developing and managing large scale institutionally funded projects (USAID and EU mandatory). Experience of managing complex consortium an advantage.
  • Disability-related training / knowledge in inclusion and inclusive project cycle management.
  • Proven experience in training professionals, practitioners, and other groups.
  • Experience in advocacy for inclusion advantageous.
  • Experience in the livelihood or education sector advantageous.
  • Spanish (Compulsory) / English (Professional Proficiency, strong written and conversational skills)
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Confident user of e-conferencing tools (Zoom, Teams, GoToMeeting, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills and teamwork.
  • Identification with the Christian values and mandate of CBM.
