Action for Children

Salary: circa £45,000 per annum

Contract/Hours: Permanent – 35 hours per week.

Location: 100% remote, Homebased.

What you’ll be doing:

Our Recruitment Team and On-boarding Team are made up of talented and thoughtful professionals who are committed to our mission to ensure that children and young people have a safe and happy childhood.

As Recruitment Services Manager, you will join us to shape Action for Children’s recruitment strategy and employer brand, aligned to the organsations objectives delivered through the provision of an excellent recruitment experience that leads to the attraction and selection of the right people, with the passion, skills and competencies to deliver our services to keep children and young people safe.

You’ll be joining a dedicated bunch who come to work every day ready to tackle tough, but meaningful recruitment and on-boarding campaigns. That said, we don’t take ourselves too seriously, love to collaborate and grow together to develop new skills and ideas. We put teamwork at the centre of everything we do.

You’ll do this by:

– Utilising professional expertise and knowledge to lead, manage and develop the team, structures, and systems to enable continued team development and improvement of knowledge and understanding of recruitment practice and procedure.

– Delivering an effectively managed recruitment and disclosure service, that provides quality and expert service and advice through a team of recruitment and compliance specialists and manage the daily workload of the team to fulfil service standards, in accordance with SLA targets.

– Designing, executing, monitoring, and continuously improve all aspects of the hiring process, mindful of cost and our reputation as an employer of choice and as an organisation that champions inclusivity, harnessing the ability of our recruitment strategies to increase the diversity of our workforce.

– Improving and refining our range of tools and templates to support recruiting managers and HR teams in conducting inclusive recruitment process, such as job advert templates, interview questions and test options encouraging internal development and career growth.

– Selecting and managing relationships with appropriate recruitment and disclosure partners, negotiating terms and rates for recruitment advertising /agencies/compliance checks.

– Leading the delivery of recruitment and selection training to recruiting managers, reviewing and developing training materials and methods. Lead the involvement of the recruitment team and managers in attraction events, forums and activities related to employee recruitment.

– Being responsible for the organisation’s online recruitment portal and pages, working in conjunction with the Digital, Marketing and IT teams, to ensure it provides potential applicants with the information they need.

What we are looking for:

– Proven track record of managing effective recruitment strategies for medium/large, complex national organisations.

– Experience of designing, leading and executing successful recruitment campaigns, introducing innovative and cost-effective solutions.

– Relevant CIPD qualification (or equivalent) and membership.

– Experience of leading and developing a team to support hiring managers, empowering them to recruit the right passionate, experienced and qualified candidate.

– Working knowledge of key employment law relating to recruitment to share with others to continue to improve service delivery.

– Demonstrable continued professional development commitment.

– Experience of building personal credibility by establishing and developing excellent relationships.

– Demonstrable leadership, influencing and motivating skills to drive and support continuous organisational improvement through service delivery.

– Proven presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
