About The RoleCareem Grocery is on a mission to reinvent the way people shop for grocery, pharmacy and retail products. As an exciting new vertical within Careem (a startup within a startup), we���re in the early stages of building our product and have plenty of interesting and fundamental challenges to solve in order to achieve our ambitious growth goals in this burgeoning space.As a Real Estate Acquisition Associate, you���ll help us find properties for new dark stores in strategic locations as we scale our operations across the Middle East. Real estate drives our business and this role is key to our success. This is a unique role with the opportunity to create genuine impact for the lives of everyday people in our region.We���re looking for someone who knows commercial property inside-out and can find us the best properties for our needs, quickly. Our ideal candidate is someone highly persuasive, strategically oriented, and with a keen sense of ownership and a get-it-done mentality.What You���ll DoScout for and secure new dark store locations for expansion within existing and to new citiesConduct site feasibility studies to determine suitability for our needs (operationally, financially, geographically)Coordinate and negotiate with realtors and landlords end to end, and liaise with agencies, architects, regulators, legal teams, etc. as needed to secure and deliver dark stores (including managing paperwork like letters of intent, offers, invoices, etc.)Develop strong relationships with national and regional realtors, landlords, etc. to unlock proprietary real estate opportunitiesOperate at scale with as many as 20 site procurement processes in parallelWhat You���ll NeedSuccessful candidates will have a passionate commitment to improving the lives of people, an insane focus on excellence and customer centricity, and a strong alignment with our core values and purpose.At least 3 years of experience with relevant exposure to real estate.Time spent in tech, consulting, strategy, or a start-up is a plus. Proven ability to independently handle real estate matters and the procurement of commercial real estate, including; location sourcing, commercial lease negotiation, preparation of site plans, fit-out and use proposals, including successful negotiation thereof with landlords and government agencies.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills are a must, including the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.Analytical mindset – You identify locations and make decisions based on data insights.Balance attention to detail with swift execution – we need to do things quickly, and we need to do them well.Self-starter – the ability to self-serve, investigate and get the information you require will make you much more effective in this role.Grittiness – You never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and address something hands-on, you persevere when others fall away.Willingness to travel – you may support other markets in our region.Arabic proficiency is a plus.
