Job Summary

The R&D Intern will be focused on material science combined with color and additive design work in the Innovation Center. The Specialty Engineered Materials Intern position is a paid internship located in Avon Lake, OH. Pay is commensurate with experience.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate on a functional, characterized colorant database for engineered resins
  • Evaluate different software packages and the associated algorithms to enhance color matching process
  • Create custom additive and color formulations to enhance performance of engineered resins
  • Develop and maintain test plans, as well as track progress of the testing
  • Support technology platforms in medical, FDA and durable thermoplastics
  • Develop key communication and training materials
  • Create summaries of new capabilities which can be used by internal and external customers
  • Other duties as assigned

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering and polymer engineering (In process)
  • Must currently be enrolled as a student at an accredited institution
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Problem solving/decision making/sound judgment
  • Ability to handle multitasking, manage time, and prioritize tasks based on customer needs
