BACKGROUND

INARA provides life-altering medical care and reconstructive surgery for children (0-18 years) who have injuries due to war, blasts, or unsafe living conditions, and are unable to access or afford treatment. INARA’s work consists of filling the gap in access to free of charge medical and surgical treatment. INARA also supports ongoing cases with medication, medical equipment (such as prosthetic, eyeglasses, glass eyes, hearing aids), laboratory and diagnostic testing, transportation, accommodation prior/post-surgery, and other therapeutic regimens (speech therapy, physiotherapy, psychotherapy). In addition, INARA provides psychiatric and psychological therapy services to children in need through its in-house mental health program.

Currently, INARA is adapting our work to respond and support the situation in Ukraine.

DESCRIPTION

INARA is looking for a part-time Rapid Response Coordinator to support its growing fundraising efforts to support the ongoing Ukrainian crisis. INARA is building a program to provide consultations and training specific to mental health professionals, social workers, and others who are directly working with children on the ground. We will also be working to facilitate the efforts of small NGOs in neighboring countries who are focusing on vulnerable children, such as orphans. These NGOs are not equipped to host the influx of children, nor do they have the mechanisms in place to accept international donations. This position will support these new efforts.

This position is fully based on remote work and is offered as a short-term consultancy, with the possibility to expand the position into a long-term one. The selected candidate must have access to a reliable internet connection and a laptop, and can be based in any country. It is strongly preferred that he/she is available during most working hours of the Central European Time (CET). The Rapid Response Coordinator will be working closely with the Fundraising & Development Coordinator in Europe, with some coordination with the teams in Beirut, Lebanon and Gaziantep, Turkey.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Philanthropy (Major Donors and Trusts and Foundations) and Grant-making

  • Provide support in developing grant proposals and concept notes, and the necessary supporting documents in coordination with the Fundraising & Development Coordinator
  • Carry out in-depth research, both internally and externally, obtaining relevant information on potential organizations to provide financial support to
  • Provide oversight to funds distributed to small NGOs helping children affected by the Ukrainian war, including keeping track of spending and incoming donations for this purpose

Corporate and Events

  • Reach out to corporations and discuss potential CSR partnerships

Community Fundraising

  • Provide support, guidance, and material to individuals and/or initiatives in planning and implementing fundraising activities for INARA**

Individual Giving

  • Manage correspondence with prospects, including responding to individual donors’ inquiries and requests and answering general inquiries around donating to INARA’s Ukraine efforts
  • Manage and update INARA’s online fundraising tools and platforms
  • Pull donation reports relevant to the fundraising initiative

General Activities

  • Work with the Communications Manager on developing written content relevant to the fundraising initiative
  • Keep track of fundraising activities

· Help build the new mental health consultation program and keep track of activities throughout their cycle; this includes research, planning, coordination, logistics, implementation, reporting, and evaluation

· Coordinating and facilitating the implementation of the remote mental health program, including identifying , coordinating, and liaising with people and organizations on the ground to offer INARA’s support in mental health services and keep track and plan for the remote consulatations

· Conduct other relevant tasks as assigned by Fundraising & Development Coordinator and/or President

REQUIREMENTS

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a non-profit setting, working on philanthropy (major donors and trusts and foundations), and grant-making (proposal development, program design and development), including donor reporting

  • Experience in designing and coordinating fundraising campaigns and activities

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills in English with an ability to communicate to a wide range of stakeholders (donors, grantors, partners, the public)

  • Ability to multitask and strong organizational skills

  • Ability to work within INARA’s guiding principles

Desirable

  • Experience working with online fundraising systems or tools

  • Experience in grant making or fundraising within the health sector

  • Experience in grant making or fundraising for vulnerable populations

  • A demonstrable understanding of the current socio-political and refugee contexts in Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, and, Eastern Europe

  • Availability during most working hours of the Central European Time (CET)

The remuneration range for this part-time consultancy is $900 to $1,200 per month, based on experience and competencies.
