Job Title: Quality Technician
Reports to: Quality Assurance Lead (Product)
Location: Ledbury, Dymock Road, HR8 2JQ
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6am-2pm (fixed shifts), 40 hours per week
Salary: £10.50ph increasing to £11.45ph grade D after training

Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Analytical testing of finished products (and occasionally raw materials) to ensure conformance to specification. Drive corrective action following non-conformance.
- Sampling schedule maintenance, sample preparation and monitoring of results from external microbiological lab. Drive corrective action following non-conformance.
- Management of Certificates of Analysis / Conformance for customers
- Ensure laboratory supplies of equipment stocked appropriately
- Internal Auditing
- Dealing efficiently with customer enquiries, internal and external
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for product quality
- To provide cover for other technical team members, including Quality Manager, in periods of absence
- Assist with the creation, amendments and set up of labels in readiness for production
- Set up and record daily product review
- To provide break cover for Production QAs
- Internal Auditing including GMP, and Glass Plastics factory audits
- Swabbing and Sampling in accordance with schedules
- Weekly data logger verification exercises
- Managing the separation and on hold of non-conforming product
- Approval & releasing products for dispatch
- Monthly water, settle plates
- Changing the Production knives
- Quarterly shelf life sample testing
- Additional duties as directed by Quality Assurance Lead/Technical Manager
Key Requirements:
Essential
- Good verbal communication skills on one to one and group basis
- Computer literacy with literacy and numeric skills
- Able to work effectively as part of a team
- Attention to detail
Desirable
- Food Industry background
- HACCP Level 2
- Internal auditing training
