Job Title: Quality Inspector

Salary: £52,329 – £72,672 per annum

Job Location: Manchester

Hours: 36 hours per week

We’re recruiting for a Quality Inspector!

About The Job

You’ll to be the main point of contact on site for Clarion, ensuring product being constructed is built to the required construction issue drawings and specification. You’ll be responsible for making sure the build quality is to an exemplar standard through all critical stages of the build. We’ll look to you to lead by example on any site visited on all things safety related.

Some of you duties will include;-

  • Providing advice for each business unit on construction activities for tender appraisals.
  • Giving buildability advise during RIBA stages 1 to 4.
  • Manage all elements of the construction during RIBA stage 5 and ensure a safe, defect free handover to the relevant third party.
  • Ensuring the end built product is compliant and of a quality build.
  • Manage all third party involvement during construction; this will include but not limited to, Clarion Housing Association, Sales Progression, Sales, After Care.
  • Checking all critical stages of the build to ensure that the quality meets both the specification and the expectation of the end user.
  • Highlight any potential specification and design issues for comment and rectification before it could affect construction and programme.
  • During the early stages of design have an initial input to check for potential clashes in buildability to allow the design team to rectify before the project comes to site
  • Maintain an accurate record of work progression and give an estimated completion date of works during the life of the project.

We are looking for you to have the following experience;-

  • Significant experience in the construction industry with an in-depth knowledge of sub and supper structure for apartment construction and house building experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of build materials and their interaction with each other.
  • In-depth knowledge of build sequence
  • In-depth knowledge of the local supply chain
  • Experience of working in complex multi-dimensional projects in a large construction organisation.
  • Confidence in making judgements effectively and recommendations based on evidence and analysis.
  • Experience of managing risk, issues and dependencies within a complex programme.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with a proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and customers.
  • High degree of IT skills with an in-depth understanding of current market leading digital delivery tools for programme, quality and defect tracking.
