In this position, you will establish and maintain a quality culture in the Measurement & Analytics Division, controlling quality with systems, tools and teams to exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations.

You will be the Quality Assurance Manager and in charge of developing and maintaining the quality assurance system, managing all aspects in line with guidance from ABB Measurement & Analytics. This will be done in close collaboration with the QMS & CI Manager.

Your responsibilities

  • Functional and direct responsibility of the quality assurance team
  • Analyzing and optimizing the production processes using statistical methods
  • Focusing on preventing issues rather than just control and driving the utilization of process management to deliver consistent results
  • Ensuring that effective internal controls are in place to verify that processes continue to meet requirements and that control plans are followed and effective
  • Making sure that the customer’s voice is represented in the business and presenting the management team with customer experience feedback
  • Enabling and coaching all employees to evaluate risks, problems and solutions from a customer/stakeholder point of view
  • Assisting the Engineering function with product data and evaluations and validating APQP plans to ensure effective introduction of new products
  • Performing internal and external audits with the use of analytics to identify risks, failures and non-conformances and ensuring that appropriate actions are taken
  • Working with HR to ensure that the local quality team is staffed, developed and directed
  • Defining verification / validation requirements and evaluating and releasing the results in cooperation with R&D Team
  • Managing the claim process through ABB CCRP Tool (Customer Care Resolution Process)
  • Defining, maintaining and reporting of Quality KPIs
  • Transferring norm and statutory requirements (e.g., Ex, PED) into the ABB processes
  • Playing a crucial role in developing and implementing quality improvement programs.

Your background

  • A bachelor or master’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with minimum five years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferred with experience in automotive industry
  • Sound knowledge of relevant quality tools and methods like Automotive Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA and SPC), 8D, Ishikawa etc.
  • Six Sigma/Lean manufacturing skills and knowledge of quality standards, preferably Green Belt or Black Belt certified
  • A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Able to analyze complex problems and solve them in cooperation with the R&D team
  • Experience with products used in hazardous areas (e.g., Ex, PED) preferrable
  • Strong leadership and change management skills
  • Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
  • Willingness to travel (national and international)
