Wendy’s QA is looking for Professionals who are pursuing either a Bachelor’s or a Master’s Degree in Food Safety, Quality, Environmental Health or relevant field to spend the summer with us as Wendy’s Interns. We are looking for individuals with a track record of achievement seeking opportunities to make an impact in an evolving, growing organization. We are committed to providing QA development experience to help star performers achieve their full potential while providing an excellent employee experience. Scope of the internship experience may include a review of CDC- food safety and QA science, information, data and State and Local Level food safety regulations.

Our internship opportunity is open to any location within the US with full access to the Web. You will gain exposure to, learn from, and have the opportunity to work with industry-leading professionals within and outside of Food Safety and QA Fields, including members of Wendy’s QA Team and its leadership. As a Wendy’s intern, you will be involved in key initiatives driving our business and the QA function forward. You will be expected to not just work under the instruction of your manager, but to exhibit initiative and creative problem solving in pursuit of your goals and tasks. Your 10-12 weeks with us will be unique and personalized based not only on our business needs, but also on your personal interests & development goals.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews CDC and FDA research and data on most frequest causes, contributing factors and antecedents to Foodborne illness in Foodservice and uses information to compare, contrast and assess Wendy’s Foood Safety program.
  • Provides reports of trends and makes reasonable recommendations and projections ensuring accuracy and integrity of the reports
  • Reviews State an Local Food Codes and data from inspections in Wendy’s Restaurants and uses information and data to compare, contrast with Wendy’s Foood Safety program.
  • Provides reports of trends and makes reasonable recommendations and projections ensuring accuracy and integrity of the reports
  • Seeks Food Safety Reports from State an Local Food jurisdictions not available to Wendy’s (through EcoSure Health Departments Inspections System) and collects data from inspections and adds it to above noted Reports

What we expect from you

  • Currently pursuing either a Master’s or a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science or similar
  • Demonstrated ability to do research and apply the knowledge to identify trends in data and develop logical conclusions
  • Strong Public Health, Food safety and/ or quality acumen

basic understanding of statistics

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability of managing multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Strong proficiency in the MS Office Suite of products
